Theresa's Mixed Nuts: 5 Minute Fudge

5 Minute Fudge

A couple of years ago I decided to try and make fudge for Christmas. For some reason I never figured out, it just would not set and turned into a runny, gooey mess. I was so disappointed with my attempt that I haven't tried making it again.

I've been trying to shake things up in the food department here at home, and have been checking out all of the old Taste of Home back issue magazines from the library lately. I ran across this recipe for 5 minute fudge that looked simple enough, so I decided to give it a whirl. Finally, I got it right :)

Ingredients:

1 12oz pk of semi sweet chocolate pieces
2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 tablespoon water
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

Line an 8x8 pan with wax paper. Place chocolate bits, water, and sweetened condensed milk in a heavy saucepan and cook over low heat until all chocolate bits are melted. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and nuts. Pour mixture in lined pan. Chill for 1 hour in the refrigerator. Cut into squares. Serve.
*You can store in an air tight container for up to 1 week*

  1. Ahhhhhh! Looks good! You just had to post something chocolately! Gee thanks...my chocoholism won't improve at this rate ;) lol. I make Oprah's 5 Minute fudge, it's similiar to this but has dried cranberries in it. I have to omit the nuts though :(

  3. I know, these chocolate recipes I keep finding and making are killing me! I sat down last night and figured out a new workout routine so I can keep eating them lol.

It would be so difficult for me to give up nuts, but kids come first so out they would go if mine had an allergy to them!

Dried cranberries? I'll have to give that a try next time I make this. Sounds like it will give it a good punch of flavor! Thanks for the tip! :)

    1. I'm going to scope out our chocolate store at the mall and see what they have on display and steal some of their ideas next time I'm there. I'm so glad this worked because I love fudge, I just didn't want to keep blundering it.
