I love sugar scrubs! They leave your skin feeling so soft, and they are fabulous at scraping off the dead skin. If you use body scrubs, you know they they can be quite expensive in the store. I like to make my own versions, and I think that they turn out even better than those pricey ones in the stores! We made candy cane sugar scrub and this brown sugar body scrub and passed them out as gifts last Christmas, and they were a huge hit. We will be passing them out again this year too!
Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil (I like to use almond oil too)
2 tablespoons honey
Directions:
Stir all together until all ingredients are completely mixed together. Easy as pie, and smells just as good :)
Maybe the old one eye needs some of that for her skin cells lol
ReplyDeleteThank you - that sounds like a really nice gift! They are expensive at the stores. Hope you are having a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteprobably smells good
DeleteIf my Hubs sees any kind of a sugar scrub, he wants pampered. Right now I just don't have time. But this I bet does smell wonderful.
ReplyDeleteyou do have to shower after that, yes? :)
ReplyDeleteYes Dezzy, you do have to shower after that. I like to slather it on, let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse off. Your skin will feel so soft and smell so good once out of the shower!
Deletegood, I was afraid the bees would eat me up alive :)
DeleteBet it does smell great
ReplyDeleteVery interesting Theresa! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteso easy! I didn't know this :) Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI make the same thing, but I've used coconut oil. I should try olive oil next time.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried coconut oil, but I hear really great things about it. I am going to give that a whirl for my next batch!
DeleteThese are sooo nice! Love how they exfoliate and leave your skin feeling soft. They're so easy to make too! And you can infuse different scents. Too fun!
ReplyDeleteI remember your scrub from last year. I think these are so great for gift giving (the mailman and school teacher immediately come to mind).
ReplyDeleteI am pinning this one!! That looks good enough to eat!!
ReplyDeleteYum, that is such a fun idea! (bookmarked).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the words of encouragement! I have been leaving many things on the 'back-burner' for far too long, december/christmas events, a sick relative and just life all came crashing around me last week, I'll just be doing a outfit post just once a week for a while, til things settle down. (if they do?) lol ♥
Yes, this scrub really interesting sweet!
ReplyDeleteA few years ago, a student made me a body scrub for Christmas. I enjoyed it and didn't even try to eat it.

I think I will try this! I don't usually make my own, and just buy them when they are on super sale or clearance. I think Elliott would enjoy making this, though, to give out as gifts as well.
ReplyDeleteThat look sooo simple...I love body scrub...leaving you with such a smooth feeling afterwards..I'll try it, looks easy :D...TFS ...
ReplyDeleteI like sugar scrubs better than salt scrubs. I also make bath salts as gifts.
