Allison loves to watch those old car shows on t.v. with her pop (grandpa), so it really wasn't much of a surprise when she asked if she could attend a car show with one of her friends. What did surprise us was her giddiness when she came home from the show because she got to meet "Elvis!"
She went on and on for days about meeting Elvis, talking about his performance, his jokes, and the fact that he gave her and her friend one of his famous scarves:
Personally autographed just for her, it's a souvenir she will treasure for quite some time. If an Elvis impersonator can cause that much excitement in a 10 year old girl, I can only imagine the flames the real Elvis sparked in girls back in the day!
Have you ever met an Elvis impersonator?
Hahaha - that is awesome. I got married by Elvis as a matter of fact. True story.
ReplyDeleteAn exciting day for your daughter!!! Please share MM. Sounds a little Las Vegas like!
DeleteNope, but I met the First Female Biggest Loser, Ali Vincent one time. Does that count? lol
ReplyDelete(now what is Robin talking about, above? what?)
That's funny, lol!! I told my youngest not long ago, 'Listen, that's Elvis!' when I heard it on a public radio. He said to me, 'Who's Elvis?' lolol
ReplyDeleteHubby and I had our picture taken with Elvis in Vegas once. ;)
I just knew Elvis was alive!
ReplyDeleteDezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! What are you saying!
DeleteThat's a very tall Elvis. I'm glad he stole Allison's heart.
ReplyDeleteI'm not really into Elvis. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been a crazed fan.
By the way, I love your story about the horse named Hooter. Bad luck on your part. Smiles.
Be well, Theresa.

Amazing, I love the music of Elvis!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cute that she was so fascinated with meeting "Elvis" :) What a great experience for her and I love the souvenir that she came back with!
ReplyDeleteElvis is still alive and well and living in the hearts and souls of many of his fans! I was not a crazed fan but I did love his music (not so much the movies!) This impersonator really does look quite a bit like the real deal-and it was very nice that your daughter got a souvenir!
ReplyDeleteNo elvis but i did meet Captain Jack Sparrow at disney about fainted...hehe
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool for your daughter! I have never met an Elvis before, this one looks so much like him.
ReplyDeleteElvis is still alive? He aged well. Don't recall ever meeting one before at my shore.
ReplyDeleteThat's so cute, as children they remember special moments like that forever!
ReplyDeleteat least he's impersonating his better non-fat days.
ReplyDeleteThe impersonator looks good actually, I have to check his face to see it's not the real him.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful day it must be for the kids!
ReplyDeleteHow fun for Allison to meet "Elvis". About 16 years ago, a friend of ours used to sing in a band and in one of his segments, he would come out dressed as Elvis.
ReplyDeleteI've never met an Elvis impersonator before but I would love to get a picture with one! Your daughter is lucky! :)
ReplyDeletei never knew Elvis was still over with kids
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny! I bet meeting the king is something special.
ReplyDeleteAha a wonderful day to treasure! Never met Elvis impersonator though..here we have tons of Michael Jackson impersonators :D
