I love how people got in the spirit, coming out wearing their St. Pat's gear.
The parade finally kicked off. The cold didn't seem to bother these kilt wearing bagpipers.
Fun Colorful Floats....
And, what's a parade without some horses with green noses and legwarmers? Oh, and a few llamas too?
After a very long and cold hour, we took the girls to our East Race Waterway where they turned the water green!
Even through the complaining, I think it was a great way to kick of the holiday!
I hope you all have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!
Nice to see the parade. Green is the great color. Leg warmers for the horses looks like beautiful shoes for them!
ReplyDeleteWe were at a parade yesterday, too, and some people got really decked out. I love that they turned your water green - that is wicked cool!
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was a grand ole' time. I love the horses with the legwarmers! Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
ReplyDeleteI love that they made the water green. They do that in Chicago too, and I'd like to see it.
ReplyDeleteI would love to do the Chicago St. Paddy's Day parade some year! I do think the greening of that river would be so neat to see in person!
DeleteI remember Chicago and the green river. Happy St. Patrick's Day to you!
ReplyDeleteI always wanted me a lama or alpaca!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I could see you with one too, you big animal lover, you :)
Deleteit's third on my list, after a coon and a donkey :) So far I've only had cats, dogs, frogs, chicken, parrots, sheep, piggies and a horse :)
Deletehaha green water too, they go all out indeed.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I love the animals. I hope your girls ended up liking it after all. We haven't been to a St. Patty's parade here. I should go sometime.
ReplyDeleteI've been sick since Thursday, so I won't be celebrating much. I just wore green, but later I'm going to the doctor.
That's so cool how they can make the rivers bright green. Fun photos. I loved the feet of the horses. {hooves, rather?} Take care my friend! Have a great St. Patty's Day!
ReplyDeletePrecious and beautiful photos! Happy St. Patrick's Day! I fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm envious of your town's spirit. Looks like a fun 'ole Irish time was had by all.
ReplyDeleteBe well, Theresa.
xoRobyn
we don't have a parade in my town
ReplyDeleteWonder what it took to get those things on the horse
ReplyDeleteEast Race Waterway looks awesome. I am gonna have to Google that. Looks like it would be a blast, especially if you were one of the drivers!! Good old mom draggin the kids around lol. Who doesn't love a good parade!
ReplyDeleteI wish we would have had a local St. Patrick's Day parade to attend. I really liked the fact they colored the water green. What an excellent idea!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful and fun parade. I wish out town did this sort of thing.
ReplyDeleteThat looks really cool. I love the thought of a parade, my city doesnt do anything.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a st patty's day parade. It looks like a lot of fun!!
ReplyDeleteThat is SO neat that your town does a St. Patty's Day parade! Our city doesn't :( My dad is in Chicago right now, and they celebrate HUGE apparently! Love the green water :) That's too bad that it wound up being so chilly...and you had the time wrong..hehe.
ReplyDeleteOur town is mostly Italian, so they don't seem to do a lot for St Patricks Day. Love how they turned your water green.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you all had a great time even though it was cold. That must have been amazing seeing the water green!
ReplyDeleteWe don't celebrate St Patricks Day but we do love parades and it looks like you had a blast!
ReplyDeleteI understand how they feel. I complain in the cold too. I was in a St. Patty's Day parade and luckily it was reasonably warm. Looks like there was a variety of things to see in your parade.
