We all know how expensive American Girl accessories are, and when I did a search for hot air balloon for my daughter's doll, I see I can get the real AG balloon set for *only* $199 dollars. Pft!
I went to the craft store and bought a wicker basket, a paper lantern, a few wooden dowels and some ribbon, and for less than $10, my daughter has her own hot air balloon for her American Girl doll. Sure, it's not as fancy as their version, but it suits my kid just fine :)
The only thing I would have done differently is found a more square basket instead of a rectangular one so the doll fits inside better.
What doll crafts have you been working on lately?
Oh wow, that came out AWESOME and good for you for saving yourself over $180!!
ReplyDeletePfft is my fave word and I can't wait for Facebook to give it a button :)
ReplyDeleteI like what you did in the end, sister
I thought it was poo. Or is that ancient history?
DeletePffft to that kind of money indeed, just have to get creative as you did at your feed

ReplyDeleteI agree, American Doll accessories can be quite spendy. It's so cool that you were able to make your daughter her very own hot air balloon for her doll. It turned out perfect!

ReplyDeleteI hate when that happens, you want to see more and then find there is nothing there. At least you found what you needed to make the hot air balloon, it is really cute.
ReplyDeleteIt did turn out cute as can be. And how ridiculously priced are some of the most popular toys and accessories for the kids today???? To that, I say phft too.
