Like most kids, my girls are hungry when they walk in the door from school. Bags get discarded on the floor and they are high-tailing it into the kitchen looking for something to eat. It's important for us to have something filling and healthy on hand for after school snacking. While they do like fruits and veggies, it's always a treat to add a dip into the mix. My family loves peanut butter, and since it pairs well with fruit, veggies and pretzels, I think we will be keeping this Peanut Butter Dip from Golden Blossom Honey on hand for delicious and healthy after school snacking.
The recipe didn't call for it, but I added in some chocolate chips for a little special treat. It's a small indulgence that my kids enjoy.
Ingredients
1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter1/4 cup GOLDEN BLOSSOM HONEY

Do you eat your fruits and veggies raw, or do you like to eat them with a dip?
Wait, you eat celery and carrots with chocolate? :)
ReplyDeleteThem baby carrots do look positively veggiedorable, we don't have them here, sadly.
Darling, chocolate goes good with everything ;) actually, we don't eat it with the carrots, but put a few on the celery with some raisins and the girls love it! It's great spread on buttery cracker rounds and graham crackers too!
DeleteSuch silliness, dear, must be a Hoosier thing :) Putting salty pretzels on cookies, chocolate on celery... madness, I say, madness! :) But you may proceed.....
DeleteI totally understand the kids being hungry at the end of the day. My boys are hungry a lot. That's why we eat bigger breakfasts. They have a snack at the end of the day to. :)
ReplyDeleteSeeing what they serve at school, it's no wonder why they are so hungry when they walk in the door. Mariah takes her lunch every day, but I can't convince Allison to do the same. She prefers yucky school lunches for some odd reason :(
DeleteI love healthy after school snacks like this. I always try to make sure the kids have something healthy when they get home.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds yummy. I am always looking for new snack ideas. I can't wait to make this.
ReplyDeleteThis looks really good. My son loves peanut butter with celery, but I've never thought to add anything else to it.
ReplyDeletePB and Honey are great. Add veggies and that is yummy
ReplyDeleteDelicious! We love finding recipes for healthy foods! My children would really enjoy this, especially with the chocolate chips added in! :)
ReplyDeleteI never really get a dip
ReplyDeleteThat looks awesome! Only trouble is I'd probably eat all of the chocolate chips while they were off at school.
ReplyDeleteI love to mix peanut butter and honey and dip apple slices into it. This makes the perfect snack for the kids after they get hoe from school.
ReplyDeleteAll of those are sure healthy snacks, carrots and celery I go for at my shack
ReplyDeleteThere are few foods on earth I love more than peanut butter. While I am totally okay with plain fruits and veggies, everything is better when peanut butter is involved.
ReplyDeleteI bet my son would like this a lot. He is obsessed with peanut butter.
ReplyDeleteYummy! Some peanut butter, too, is pretty healthy. I just have to study the labels to find one that's on the healthy, non-fatty side. This looks really tasty.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your support of my book, Theresa. You're awesome. I also appreciate that you never fail to drop by, especially when you have so many followers.
Have a wonderful weekend. =)
This sounds delicious. I love that you used organic honey!
ReplyDeleteI love to dip fruits and snacks in a good honey mustard dip! It adds such a nice flavor to the sweetness of fruit!
ReplyDeleteI love to dip fruit in chocolate! and chicken tenders in honey mustard dip! Does that count? LOL :-)

ReplyDeleteWhat a great after school snack. School is beginning in less than two weeks for us.
ReplyDeleteI love this for a snack. School will be here before you know it.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a delicious snack idea. I am always trying to get my kids to eat healthier. I love Peanut Butter but have not tried it as a dip.
ReplyDeleteOh yum! I am going to try and put some honey and cinnamon in my almond butter. I bet it will really taste good. Now you have me hungry.
ReplyDeleteThis looks SO good! If it wasn't for the peanut allergy in our house, I'd totally be all over this :) I'll be sure to pass this on to friends who I know will love it. YUM!
ReplyDeleteThis does look great for after school. And I hear you on the hungry kids, I've got two of 'em here too. I guess learning makes you hungry. :)
