I'm going to be honest here and say that green smoothies have never appealed to me. I used to look at the pictures my friends would share on social media of their daily green drinks and I'd turn my nose up in disgust. Why are ya'll drinking your greens instead of eating them with a fork? It's like the time my mom used a limited edition green ketchup to make her baked beans for Thanksgiving one year. It still tasted the same as every other year, but I couldn't get over the green color enough to shovel more than a forkful into my mouth. My eyes just weren't cooperating with my stomach there.
Jason has this thing with kale lately. He's buying it up by the ton to blend into his daily smoothie and has been insisting that it's really delicious. So, I decided to bite the bullet and make myself a Super Fruit Stevia Smoothie that I found on Stevia In The Raw®.
I figured, what's the worse that can happen? If I hate it, I could just pass it on to Jason since he's so in love with green smoothies. But, do you know what really happened? I immediately jumped on the green smoothie bandwagon. This drink is ah-mazing! It was even better than some of the fruit drinks you can get at the local smoothie shops. I didn't even take issue with the green color, and found myself disappointed when I reached the bottom of my glass and realized there wasn't any more. This recipe is definitely a keeper and will be going into my post workout meal routine from here on out.
Yield: Serves 2
Super Fruit Stevia Smoothie
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 ½ Cups Frozen Mango Cubes
- 1 Cup Baby Kale
- 1 Cup Sweetened Almond Milk
- ½ Cup orange juice
- 2 Packets Stevia In The Raw®
- 1 TBSP Chia Seeds
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Serve.
I've been a huge fan of using Stevia In The Raw® to help me maintain my health goals the past few months (check out this delicious Flourless Torte I recently made with In The Raw®). The packets are super convenient for using to sweeten my tea and smoothies at home, but I'll also keep a few stashed into my purse for when I'm on the go. One packet of Stevia In The Raw® is the equivalent sweetness of 2 tsp of sugar, so it's perfect for people like me who love sweetening their food and beverages without the extra calories of sugar.
Not only is the Super Fruit Stevia Smoothie available at In The Raw®, you can find other delicious recipes there as well. Grab a Probiotic Peanut Butter Smoothie or a Pineapple Turmeric Cleanser for a healthy and satisfying treat, or check out the other many recipes that will help you maintain your health and wellness goals for this year.
You can find Stevia In The Raw® Packets in most major retailers nationwide.

DeleteOMG you had green ketchup??? What heavenly bliss is that??? I'd go nuts over it, I adore me everything green! I still miss green Flavour Aid we had as kids! I did read somewhere a recipe for relish made with green potatoes and green peppers the green version of our Serbian super popular 'ajvar'.
ReplyDeleteYour smoothie looks gorgeous I could stare at that green jar for hours :) I'd probably make it with lemon and water instead of milk for myself, but mango does the trick to cover up the nasty taste of kale for sure! I just bought a handful of sprouts to put it in risotto with garlic tomorrow for lunch. Or I might use buckwheat instead of rice, we shall see.
We did. I'll tweet you a pic of it :) It tasted just like regular ketchup, but it looked like puke mixed into dishes. I just couldn't adjust.
DeleteSounds like a great company indeed. I'm still on the other bandwagon though, one look at the green stuff and I cringe. Just reminds me of baby food I guess.
