Moms are such hardworking people. I'm not saying that dads aren't too, but sometimes I think my husband gets off a little easier than I do, especially when it comes to raising girls. My girls will walk past their dad, go up a flight of stairs, then wiggle their fingers under the bathroom door just to ask me a question that their dad could have answered. Something of theirs is lost? Blame mom. She probably moved it. Tell your boss you can work until midnight? No problem. Mom will pick me up because she doesn't need her sleep. We have nothing to eat. Must be mom's fault because she doesn't know how to grocery shop. Don't get me wrong. I love, absolutely love, being a mom, but it really is a thankless job. That's why I've really come to enjoy Mother's Day. It's the one day of the year where I am treated like a queen by my kids. They usually start my day off with breakfast in bed, and that is definitely one of my favorite things about the day. Sitting in bed and getting served food I didn't have to cook? Why can't every day be Mother's Day? Since I like to start many of my mornings off with a smoothie type of drink, this year I'm going to be requesting this Kiwi Yogurt Shake Up that I found on Golden Blossom Honey.
Made with two of my favorite fruits, kiwi and strawberries, it's such a tasty way to start the day. Not only is this drink delicious, it provides a boost of energy from the honey, protein in the yogurt, plus Vitamin C from the fruits. And, what mom couldn't use an energy boost? I did change the recipe a little and used Greek yogurt instead of plain and frozen strawberries over fresh for a creamier texture, but you can do whatever you like. There's no wrong way to mix these beauties up. Pour it into a daiquiri glass and top with kiwi slices and strawberries for an elegant presentation when treating mom to breakfast in bed this year. She'll really feel spoiled!

DeleteMmmm kiwi strawberry is one of the best combinations ever. I love it too!
ReplyDeleteAi @ Sakura Haruka
It really is one of the best!
DeleteYes, but throughout the day, Jason probably has to answer millions of questions from his workers and staff :) While you're stuck only with Lady Jade.
ReplyDeleteYou did such marvellous job with these photos, dear, too bad you did not have a rosy hyacinth to match the shakes. Lovely glasses too!
Happy Mother's Day, although I don't know when it is exactly.
But, Jason also gets nights and weekends off plus 3 weeks vacation a year. Moms could never be so lucky ;) You've dealt with pubescent teens. Wanna take Lady Jade off my hands for a bit?
DeleteMy rosy hyacinth are in the back yard and are only just now popping through the ground. The purple have been in full bloom for a week now, probably because it gets more sun in my front yard than in the back.
Sure be quite the morning wake up for you to be served in bed. Maybe you should answer the questions with an I don't know, then they'll start going to dad...or pester you more haha
ReplyDeleteI don't know leads to more questioning and lots of UGH's! Nice plan, but never works lol
