We made Peanut Butter Bites.
Ingredients:
2 cups whole-wheat flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 cup peanut butter (chunky or smooth)
1 cup milk
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375'F. In a bowl, combine flour and baking powder. In another bowl, mix peanut butter and milk, then add to dry ingredients and mix well. Place dough on a lightly floured surface and knead. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness and use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Bake for 15 minutes on a greased baking sheet until lightly brown. Cool on a rack, then store in an airtight container.
These had a bit of crunch, but were still a bit soft in the middle too. If you want a full on crunchy treat, bake for 20 minutes, but keep an eye on them because they can burn easily.
Allison working on training skills with their tasty treats!
My hubby had made these for our dog. He never begged for food, cooking nor eating until then. Now when Hubby bakes the dog is at his feet. Hope the training goes well.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that crazy how these simple recipe cookies can get them so worked up? Mine don't mess with the food on the counter, but I've noticed they are pacing back and forth in front of the one we have these treats stored on. They like them a lot!
DeleteI shall pass this recipe onto my mom! She has two basset hounds :) I'm sure they'd LOVE them.
ReplyDeleteCan you tell I'm trying to get caught up on comments? haha!
So glad you are feeling better Brandi! I don't think I'll be buying store bought treats again. They really go gaga for these! When we run out (this recipe was enough to fill over 2 cookie sheets of treats) I want to try more from the bullwrinkle site and see how they react to those too.
DeleteI just came across this recipe on your blog and I am going to have to make these for my dog! He loves peanut butter!
