Ingredients
8 cups cubed French bread
2 medium tart apples, peeled and chopped
1 pk cream cheese (8oz) softened
3/4 cup brown sugar
1-3/4 cups milk, divided
2 tsp vanilla extract, divided
1/2 cup English toffee bits (I use Heath toffee chips found by the regular
chocolate chips)
5 eggs
Directions
Place 1/2 the bread cubes in a greased 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Top with
apples.
In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugars, 1/4 cup milk, and 1 tsp
vanilla until smooth. Stir in toffee bits. Spread over apples. Top with
remaining bread cubes.
In another bowl, beat the eggs and remaining milk and vanilla until
blended. Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Bake uncovered at
350 degrees for 35-45 minutes or until knife inserted through center comes out
clean.
Serve.
Makes 8 servings.
MORNINGS ARE NOT MY BEST EITHER and breakfast is my least favorite only because I hate messing up my clean kitchen! I am one of those people it drives me to wake up to dirty dishes so I love this recipe idea thanks for sharing it sounds and looks yummy :}
ReplyDeleteYes! I also hate messing up my clean kitchen! For some reason cooking breakfast foods always seem to take longer for me to clean up the mess too.
DeleteThis sounds simply scrumptious! It would be great for Christmas brunch. thanks for posting! :)
ReplyDeleteWe host Christmas breakfast at our house each year and I never even thought to serve this. Thanks for the idea. I will certainly be doing it this year!
DeleteYummy! This is perfect for us because I'm not a morning person either. We're eating cereal unless my husband is home and cooks lol.
ReplyDeleteMy husband is not allowed to cook. He makes a bigger mess in the kitchen then both the kids combined!
Deleteyummy this looks wonderful
ReplyDeletesounds good. Nice blog. I found you through Crazy Mama's fun blog hop. I linked in a post about my travel bucket list. Have a super week.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I missed this yummy post! This looks so good and easy to make, especially for a non-morning person hehe. I never used to be a morning person, but have had to "make do" since having kids LOL. Thanks for sharing this recipe :)
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful my kids are getting older. Allison sleeps in late and Mariah is old enough to entertain herself. I am so enjoying being able to sleep in a little later now :)
DeleteThis does sound good! Something great for when company comes.
ReplyDeleteHmm, i never thought of doing something like this but it looks good.
