Happy October! Halloween Is Up!

Yay! It's October! Today officially kicks off my favorite time of the year. The next 3 months will be filled with fun, excitement and family! Lots of goodies, fun crafts, and days where great memories are made. I am really excited about October. This month I have a lot of great Halloween posts planned that I can't wait to share with you!

Yesterday we spent the day putting up our Halloween decorations. I admit, we go a little over the top on them. We decorate for Halloween like some decorate for Christmas. The first year I worried about what our neighbors would think. When I heard that the special needs kids that ride the bus past our house get really excited seeing the house all lit up in the mornings, all my worries went away. As long as the decorations are bringing joy to others, up they go.

Night Decorations. Wish I could show you the full effect. They are all LED lights, so it's really bright!

Do you decorate for Halloween? Inside, outside, or both? If you have some pictures of your decorations I would love to see them! Link them up in the comments.

  1. We decorate big for Halloween too! I did a 31 Days of Halloween last year and I've started it again this year... so much work but so much fun! Here's a post from last year!

  2. Wow, that looks fabulous! I bet you get a lot of trick or treaters with all those fancy lights! We don't do much decorating, but I imagine that will change once we have kids (and maybe more space to decorate, lol).

    1. I have to make sure I buy the good candy each year. With the decorations, I'm sure it's expected from to TOT'ers!

We didn't do much decorating until our kids got older. I'm sure that we won't do so much when they move out either. It's all about trying to create some memories for them while they are still young :)

  7. I LOVE your decorations! We decorate for Halloween too, but I usually wait until mid-month to put everything up. And then there is stuff that we reserve just for trick-or-treaters. My husband is a big kid and just loves to deck our yard out for Halloween.

  8. Nice decorations! I have to admit, I am definitely a little on the lazy side when it comes to decorations. I am sure that will not last long as the kids get older. :)

  12. LOVE the decorations! Halloween is so fun! You can get so creative in so many ways. My mom used to always decorate our house...it was awesome! This year I want to decorate more than usual, because the kids are at an age that they can appreciate it more. I love that you light it up too!

  14. Oh I just love all of your hallowe'en decorations!! We used to go all out years ago too. We had the tombstones, and ghost and witches in the front tree. We'll have to pass on our stash to Brandi! :)

Thank so much for all your kind comments for Freddie. :)

  16. Wow, you go girl. I was told people who do Halloween up right start looking for decorations in the summer. I was watching someone put up a pretty cool graveyard in a small space in outside their apt building at Oktoberfest. Love it.

  20. Wow, I love the pumpkin lined walkway! I do minimal Halloween decorating. I'm more into the fall/harvest decor so I have tons of pumpkins, leaves, berry themed decoration. I do have a witch wreath on the front door though. ;)

  21. That's cool! I am always excited about halloween but unfortunately I always stay in the country that don't celebrate that. However rumor has it my son's school has halloween theme every year in October. I haven't got any detail yet for this year but we have discussed what he wanted to be: Super Fireman (a mix of fire truck and superman...how the hell am I going to find the right costume? lol)
