Friday night we went out to get photos with Santa. Unfortunately, the line was way too long, but we did find The Grinch.
We hopped a ride on Santa's Trolly.
Admired some gingerbread houses that were on display for contest voting.
Decorated and ate some Christmas cookies.
And since we missed Santa on Friday night, we decided to wake up early and have breakfast with him on Saturday morning. This Santa is by far the BEST Santa I have ever come across. This is our 4th year doing breakfast with him. If you tell him what you want, he always knows exactly what you are talking about. My girls said American Girl stuff. He then proceeded to tell me the best route to the American Girl store in Chicago and talked about eating lunch with the dolls there. Then he easily had the same conversation about wrestling figures with the next kid. If there ever was a modern day Santa, I've found him.
Does your town do anything special for the holidays? If so, what have you done so far this year?
The only thing we've done downtown this year is the parade, but you're right, they do have events going on all season long.
ReplyDeleteThe pics are great, and how cool was Santa?!! :)
That's about the only thing our town doesn't do is a Christmas parade! I have enjoyed all of the other bloggers photos who do get them though!
DeleteBreaskfast with santa is such a fun thing! Does your oldest still believe?
ReplyDeleteThose gingerbread houses look amazing - I just use a crappy kit that comes in a box to make mine LOL.
You are so a step further than me. I don't even buy a crappy house in a box to decorate lol.
DeleteNo, my oldest is in 8th grade this year. Believing stopped in 4th grade. She does have fun keeping the magic alive for her sister though.
Theresa! nice! oh so nice Christmas adventure photos. i love your daughter's expressions. you are a fun Mom. i would love to be your daughter, but i gather you are more the age to be my daughters. hahaha. i love your comments to me. thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteI love your comments too Renae ;) You always put a smile on my face!
DeleteThose gingerbread houses look amazing. Also, I love the idea of a photo taken with the Grinch!!
ReplyDeleteI love photos with the Grinch too. It's so outdated, but my Twitter pic is of me and the Grinch last year lol.
DeleteOHHH how fun!! I wish my city did stuff like that! It's not nearly as festive as THAT here! I agree...that Santa looks and sounds like the best one!!! Love it!!
ReplyDeleteHe is such a sweetheart of a man. He even comes to play Santa for free, which amazes me since he draws in so many customers for the pancake house we go to. And he passes out teddy bears and coloring books to all the kids. I just love him!
DeleteWell, The Grinch is a very good second to Santa!! :-) Looks like a great time.
ReplyDeleteI agree! Gotta love that Grinch!
DeleteWow you guys had a fantastic weekend! Around here there are a couple of Santa Parade's, and my town sends out a firetruck which goes down every street with Santa sitting on top. There's also a giant Christmas hoorah at a country club near out house, but last year it was sooooo hot and crowded I swore I was NEVER doing it again. Maybe I'm the Grinch? No not really ;)
ReplyDeleteHow much fun!!! I wish our little town did things like this. And a trolley ride too. The first time I rode a trolley was this past summer in Memphis.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great time! I think it would be so much fun to vote on the best gingerbread house.
ReplyDeletewow..you guys have it going on!! how fun!! loved all your pictures...they are all keepers!!
ReplyDeleteLove the holiday spirit here! Wish we had a little more in our city but we try to get out to the Christmas events and displays that we do have....
ReplyDeleteAlthough it's been quite balmy here, tonight it's supposed to drop down to 28*. We are working at the city's light show . . . outside. Brrr.

Wow! Looks like a lot of fun Theresa! Beautiful pictures. I live in a very rural area of Jamaica but in the towns and cities you will see beautiful Christmas trees, decorations in the stores, homes etc.
ReplyDeleteWow! Those gingerbread house are awesome! The town where I was born has all the christmas tradition in place every December. There will be Santa driving around in trucks! And throwing candies, toys, cookies and many more to the crowd. Christmas trees are in almost every house and it's jingle bell all the way to New Years eve. I don't celebrate Christmas but I really love the decors and all the festivity in it.
ReplyDeleteOh my! Brandi was right! she said I had to check out your holiday post 'cause your town looks amazing and she was right! How wonderful to have a town that has so many Christmas activities. The girls look pretty happy!
