Allison has a small obsession with The Hunger Games. She hasn't read the books, but she has seen the first movie quite a few times. She received a Barbie sized Katniss doll for Christmas. Unfortunately they don't make the other characters in the large size, so she has kind of had to improvise with her other dolls.
"Which of my boy dolls looks most like Peeta?" she asked the other day.
I pointed out one and she seemed pretty pleased to have a Peeta look alike to play with. I figured she must be smitten with Peeta. That is until I came in the kitchen and saw her dolls set up like this:
I guess she's Team Gale.
Haha -at least she's imaginative!! I've never read the books or seen the movie, either, but I'm betting that when my boys get a little older, they'll want to read the books.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they will too. Especially since they'll drag the movies out over the next few years, those too small now will be old enough before it's all said and done.
DeleteAnd to think, you pointed him out and sent the poor look a like to his deadly fate, oh the shame haha
ReplyDeleteI know! Poor, poor doll ;)
DeleteThat's so funny. My son really wants to see Hunger Games (and would like to read the books together, too), but I don't think he's quite ready for it yet. I have all three books on my Kindle, and we have the first movie on Blu Ray. I told him we would consider letting him watch it this summer.
ReplyDeleteI thought the movie was fine. It was definitely toned down from the books. My daughter is 9 and I don't think she'll be ready to read the books for a few more years yet.
DeleteYeah, I told Elliott we would reconsider the books when he was about ten. I think he will probably get to watch the movie this summer, though. You are right, it was toned down a lot more than I thought it would be. It's probably not any worse than some of his favorite movies (The Avengers, plus all the separate ones before, all the Spider Man movies, etc). I think I just shy away from it for him right now because it's not good vs bad guys, like in his super hero movies. And I'm worried he and his friends will act it out in school and get in trouble for "killing" each other. When they play super heroes they are only allowed to kill the invisible bad guys.
DeleteHahahaha.... Go Team Gale!!! That is so cute!
ReplyDeleteAnd a bit morbid lol.
DeleteI haven't seen/read it, but bwuahahahahhahahahahhaah
ReplyDeleteI loved the books and the movie! Though, I rooted for Peeta all the way until the end, it was pretty funny she killed him off.
Deletemorning Theresa! How ya doing? I don't get the Gale part? All I know is I think Jennifer Lawrence is a great actor. She is so natural. Haven't seen or read HUNGER GAMES.
ReplyDeleteAll I know is it is all about the shoes!!!!! hahahaha.
mail4rosey joined me yesterday and I am thrilled!!!
Gale is the 3rd part of the love triangle in the story.
DeleteSo happy you met Rosey! Yay for making new friends :)
haha i haven't read or seen these either but this is funny!!
ReplyDeleteJennifer Lawrence is awesome. I saw her in Silver Linings Playbook last night, and I can definitely see why she has gottan an Oscar nomination out of it.
ReplyDeleteI agree! She is great! I loved her in Winter's Bone too. I can't wait to see what future projects she involves herself in!
DeleteYour daughter is creative Theresa! Her dolls look great.
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy! It was a little creative, but also a bit scarey too lol.
DeleteYeah, that girl is very dangerous ...
ReplyDeleteFuture Boyfriend Beware!
DeleteHahah!! She MUST be Team Gale!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely!
DeleteHa that's funny! She looks so sweet in the lower post. Then she messes with Ken in this post.
ReplyDeleteLooks can be deceiving ;)
DeleteWow! Attacking male dolls with arrows. You might want to warn future boyfriends.

At least we know she can scare the boys off herself without her daddies threats ;)
DeleteLOL Just saw Joyce's comment! Too funny!
ReplyDeleteBut it's fun to see how they make the dolls interact right.
Visiting you from Rosey (Mail4Rosey)
She is a doll and had a few things to say about you :)
Very nice to meet you!
Oh goodness! I have to admit I kinda like it.
ReplyDeleteJust saw the movie for the first time a few weeks ago. OK movie, very good story :)
LOL omg that's too funny! It was a pretty good movie, I can see why the younger crowd likes it even more so though. I guess you don't have to worry about her when it comes to dating! haha
