I bought this tree a few years back with the intentions of finding some really cool ornaments for it. After browsing online and at our local stores, I came to to conclusion that the Halloween ornaments that are currently sold suck! I really wanted some cool Nightmare Before Christmas ornaments, and the ones that I found were awesome, but they were just too big for my little tree.
So, I decided to make my own. I bought some small white bulbs from the Christmas section at Michael's, grabbed a black sharpie marker, and thus, Jack Skellington bulbs were born.
Add a few purple and black mini bulbs, and now I am happy with my spooky tree.
Do you like the Nightmare Before Christmas? Did you make any Halloween crafts this year?
Oh goodness I love the idea of a Halloween Tree!! I must copy this :)
ReplyDeleteooh, it is so beautiful! I want, I want, I want :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea indeed, liked the movie too
ReplyDeleteMight have to make one
ReplyDeleteI still remember when that movie came out. Been so long
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh... you did a super job on that tree. You are artistic anyway so I would expect any less from you.
ReplyDeleteThese are cute. You need to sell them.

I think your tree is perfect. I agree with Joyce. You know come to think of it, you're the perfect candidate for an Etsy shop. Ever think about it?
ReplyDeleteI love to craft, but when it becomes a job (like making and selling on Etsy) it's no longer fun, you know? I applaud those who can sell their wares and still love what they do, but I know I would just end up getting frustrated lol.
DeleteIts fun but not that much fun,Been there done that,THANKz for sharing your thoughts right on the money
DeleteI totally am in love this this - what a great idea - so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore this idea!! I have a Halloween tree that's similar sitting in our kitchen right now, but don't have cool bulbs like that! I just have spiders and pumpkin garland lol. Love your craftiness!! I certainly don't have a crafty finger like you ;)
ReplyDeleteOMG that came out AWESOME. My kids JUST discovered Jack Skellington when we were at Disney and now they are both obsessed!
ReplyDeleteVery creative Theresa! You certainly did a great job with your Halloween tree!
ReplyDeleteHey that is so cool Theresa!! You are so creative!! Love the Nightmare Before Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI'm not so much a Nightmare Before Christmas fan as I am a Jack Skellington fan. Love how the ornaments turned out!
ReplyDeleteWe have sets from 2 consecutive years of ornaments from The Nightmare Before Christmas. We bought them at The Disney Store. They didn't make a set last year and we were disappointed.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I was so disappointed too. I thought for sure they were going to do something special for the 20th anniversary, and nothing! What a ripoff lol!
DeleteHahahah what a cute spooky tree!! Now I want a piece like this as decoration in my living room!!! A great idea and a great post!! Thank you!
