In the 17 years I have been with my husband, I can probably count on one hand how many times he's said no to me. Living with 3 girls, he tolerates a lot, but has also learned how to adapt to all the girly surroundings. I have taught him to cut and highlight my hair, he can name all make up items and tell you the correct way to apply them, and he buys me fabulous hand bags without me even having to hint on which ones I like. But when I won 2 tickets from a local radio station for Menopause the Musical, his response? A big, fat, whopping, Hell No! " Please don't make me go! Call your mom. Call your best friend. Call my mom! If they all say no, then I will, but I REALLY don't want to go!" Thankfully my mom stepped up to the plate and was more than happy to take his place. I suspect he will be buying her a fabulous Christmas gift this year too.
We went to yesterday's show. Honestly, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it much by what I caught of the YouTube clips, but it was actually really funny! If you have experienced "The Change", you'll relate very well to what they are saying. For those of you who haven't, it's a humorous glimpse into the future. If you can stand sitting in a theater filled with old lady perfume, I'd recommend this one to all women. And, apparently I wasn't the only wife who couldn't get her husband to go, because there were about 5 men in attendance.
Have you seen Menopause the Musical? What was the last live performance you went to?
This musical sounds interesting Theresa! I would certainly be happy to see it for a number of reasons!:) Have a good Monday.
ReplyDeleteI think this show is in Boston at least 6 months out of the year and like you, my husband would never go see this with me and unfortunatly, my mom is disabled and can't come with me.
ReplyDeleteoh, poor hubs, I can't imagine him being there :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen anything live since high school
ReplyDeleteGlad he got to avoid that one
ReplyDeletebuwhahahahahhhahahahaa
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a good time. I don't want to know what's coming, it's too close for me to be amused. ;)
lol hell no would be my response too
ReplyDeleteHa ha hah Sounds like a good girls' night out! Glad you had a good time at "Menopause The Musical". Can you imagine 40 years ago, this type of show would never be around?
ReplyDeleteThe last live theatre I saw was last month with my son.
Cheers.
So nice to have your Mom accompany you! I haven't seen or heard about this show, and no I don't wanna know what my future holds lol -Thanks for sharing :)( (Wish my Mom was close by! )
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to a show in a while. I think maybe it's time I check this out. With SO. haha.
ReplyDeleteYour guy sounds fabulous. My does most of my shopping too, I don't like shopping as much.
I haven't seen it yet,... but with a name like that, any woman would like it. Thank goodness I am finished with all that nonsense.
ReplyDeleteThat's good your Mom stepped up to the plate! I don't know if my husband would go, or not. I've never been to it before.
ReplyDeleteAh you see, Menopause the Musical sounds eerily similar to The Vagina Monologues, and ever since that feminist hit-piece men have been avoiding going to plays relating to women's private parts like the plague.
ReplyDeletehahahahahahaha, I haven't heard of it but sounds great! Your portrayal of your husband's stubbornness was so funnnnnnnnnny. Baby Z got to go home and I am mad cuz I can't get the cutest pic of him onto my IG! urgh! eventually I will succeed. Just you wait. hahahahahaha. I am so happy today! Baby Z got to go home, I hit the 50% Off Sale at Savers and I have a Giveaway on my post today celebrating my year of 'posing' on my blog. Not my anniversary of my blog starting but of the 'posing' which was a SUPER BIG DEAL to lil ol me. ♥
ReplyDeleteWasn't this the best show ever - I saw it a couple of times. Love, sandie
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a show only women could appreciate. I think I'd enjoy watching it, but it's not something that I think will be showing in my area any time soon.
ReplyDeleteInteresting! Never even heard of it. Not sure I'd be able to get my husband to go to something like that either.
ReplyDeleteLOL!! Bless your husband! Any man who can cut and color his wife's hair is a keeper!!
ReplyDeletehaha...I don't think I would be able to drag my husband to see performance like that either.. sounds interesting play!
