We took the girls to Macy's last week. While there, we happened to stumble upon a mailbox to send your Santa Mail to. They had a table set up with postcards and crayons so you could write your letter and get it sent off then and there.
Allison asked for her most wanted item- a Nerf Rebelle Crossbow.
Mariah decided it would be best to make it easy on Santa and just send a link to her Wanelo account. For those who don't know what Wanelo is, it's pretty much an online pin board, kind of like Pinterest, where you can put links to your gift wish list.
Kids these days! They just can't do anything the old fashion way anymore!
Have you seen these Santa Mail Boxes at Macy's? I believe they donate money to the Make A Wish Foundation with each letter mailed. Will your kids be mailing a letter at Macy's this year?
lol never knew what a Wanelo was. Santa better be tech savvy
ReplyDeleteI need to get over to our Macy's and see if they have something like this set up there. Usually we give our lists to the Post Office at our annual Christmas parade, but we are missing the parade this year, so I need an alternative way to get Santa our list.
ReplyDeleteJust keeping up with the times
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen these mail boxes, but then I hardly ever go in Macy's and they are only about 5 minutes from me.
ReplyDeletewe don't have a Macys in my town
ReplyDeleteVery interesting! Santa will certainly have a lot of letters to read. I hope he fulfills your daughters' requests. Have a great weekend Theresa.
ReplyDeletei have seen this---love it---wow those crossbows are all the rage this year it seems :)
ReplyDeleteHow fun! We do the Portable North Pole. Mica wants a archery set. He wants the one he did at camp. The real expensive one. He's not getting it. He also wants a computer. He's not getting that either. He is getting his Lego wants.
ReplyDeleteA crossbow? What the what? I don't know whether to scream or cry
ReplyDeleteVery nice, now only hope that the wishes come true!
ReplyDeleteI vaguely remember seeing them. I know what the crossbow is, I've seen that on TV, I didn't know about Wanelo, but I bet Santa does. ;)
ReplyDeleteFor the donation aspect alone, I would be thrilled to mail a letter. I'm giggling about the Wanelo!
ReplyDeleteWe have taken advantage of those mail boxes in Macy for the past 4-5 years with my granddaughters. When raising 1dd and ydd in their teens, we had one major shopping day in December where we took the entire Saturday and shopped for just them (I learned that the hard way from them wanting to return what I got for them in years previous). So why not buy it before Christmas (so it was exactly what they wanted) and then we would wrap it that evening and they wouldn't get it until Christmas morning. It worked like a charm. So when we do that shopping day now days, the granddaughters (and now grandsons) are included and we mail off the Letters to Santa then. We also adopt an angel from a Salvation Army Angel Tree and buy just for those items on the tree ornaments we select for specific children. It really makes Christmas be about giving rather than getting. Getting is fun, tho, don't get me wrong. lol
ReplyDeleteSure hope your Thanksgiving was really nice! (hug)
What a great setup for Santa letters!! Good to know Santa is Tech Savvy now! I think I will have to check out this site cuz I don't want Santa to one up me! Cheers.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a Macy's nearby where we live. I've never heard of Wanelo.
