Which happened to be a sponge (new, of course) covered in homemade frosting.
"This must be Angel Food Cake!" my husband said when he tried cutting his fork through it. I'm pretty sure he caught on almost immediately that it wasn't a real cake.
The teen though scooped off and ate several forkfuls of icing before she hit the sponge layer, her face twisting up in a look of pure disgust, then the plate went flying across the table. Joke well played Allison!
Did you play any pranks for April Fools Day, or did you happen to get pranked yourself?
hehe good one.. and yes, the hot sauce one would have been tooo mean! ;p
ReplyDeleteAi @ Sakura Haruka
there's a similar one where the inside is a balloon and pops when someone tries to cut it.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Your family members must have enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha - that is a good one! The only thing I did was put an elastic around the sprayer in the sink. I ended up getting myself, though, so it totally backfired.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this. That's an awesome joke :) and a not-too-mean one.
ReplyDeletehaha that was sure a fun one. Not sure I could keep a straight face
ReplyDeleteLOL... but you may be laughing out the other side of your face when next year they get you good.
ReplyDeleteInstallment #2, bwuahahahaha
Deletehope it wasn't a used sponge :)
ReplyDeleteWhy... what happened?
Deletetry it and see for yourself, Sir Randy Mandy, Sir :P But you first need to scrub the sink with it and advisably a bathroom floor and frost it with icing only after that :P
DeleteThe little one and I pranked hubs. Had to do it on Sunday to make it effective though, he never falls for it on the first. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter's too old now for pranking :/ yet, I heard her giggling about April Fool's on the phone w/her friends. Why, I oughta... :D If I was brilliant, I'd have pranked her, hahahhaa
That was a good one!!
ReplyDeleteA lady in our area got arrested for her April Fools prank. She texted her daughter saying she heard gunfire at work. When the mom didn't answer the daughter's call, the daughter called 911.......the police weren't joking when they arrested her.
I may have to try yours!
That is too funny! I managed to get through the day with no pranks being played on me. I never play any because I'm just too afraid of the revenge, hahah.
ReplyDeleteHow funny! It's great when they have a fun in their humor!
ReplyDeleteI'll post about my tricks tomorrow.
LOL that is funny! Way to go Allison. I wanted to do the pregnancy stick on the bathroom counter for hubby but I was away for the big day. :( Maybe next year!
ReplyDeletePretty funny.
ReplyDeleteCute trick to play. I would have been sadly disappointed if I wasn't getting any cake. No April Fools here!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect April Fool's joke. If we tried it here, we would have to have a back-up cake! :)
ReplyDeleteThe first time I saw this done was in college. This girl in a neighboring apartment was ticked that a guy was a jerk on a date. So she pretended to give him a cake and it was a giant sponge that was green (9x13) and she frosted it with chocolate frosting. He was such a jerk, he ate the frosting off of the sponge. ewh~ lol
ReplyDeleteA calorie free (except the frosting) sponge cake! Love it. This one's so good I may need to steal it next April 1.
ReplyDeleteBe well, Theresa.
xoRobyn
Hehe that was a good one well played Allison. We didn't pull any pranks this year.
ReplyDeleteGood one. I may have to use this one year. I love lots of hot sauce on everything so not so mean for me! ~Deb
ReplyDeletehaha..that is so funny! a genius idea too :) I might use this trick in future on my peeps!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute April fools joke! My kids tried all day to prank me. They are little so most times it was "look over there!"
ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with a bit of sponge? Hahahaha great joke.
ReplyDeleteGreat sense of humor, I think our world needs more.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun April Fools joke! We usually never participate in any April Fools jokes, but I think I may have to pull one on my three unexpecting sons this year!
ReplyDeleteHaha! This actually occurred at my school as a prank for the administration. I think it's a wonderful joke that almost anyone can fall for. :) There's nothing wrong with a bit of traditional April Fool's.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until my boys are old enough for me to do tricks on them!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for a prank! We didn't pull any pranks on each other this year.
ReplyDeleteThis is great. My daughter is always trying to find a way to prank her older brother. I will have to show her this.
