After I sat down this evening, I reflected over the entire weekend. My body is sore, I am exhausted, but thinking back over the past 3 days, I don't think there has ever been a more perfect weekend.
Friday was Allison's last choir concert of the year. I sat there listening to the kids, most botching their lyrics, none particularly good, but I couldn't help but think, "Isn't this the stuff life is made of?" Kids working for months to put on these shows for us, and parents watching their kids with such pride in their eyes. It's just a beautiful thing.
Saturday we went to the local nursery to buy our summer flowers. The checkout was 4 lanes running, and more than 15 people deep in each lane. Most of the people seemed grumpy. For God's sake, you're buying flowers. Flowers make people happy. You can't be grumpy buying flowers!
The weather was perfect on Saturday, and we spent the entire day making our yard summer ready.
Followed by an afternoon of outlet mall shopping and a stop at the ice cream shop.
I couldn't ask for a better weekend. I am truly blessed!
Happy belated Mother's Day to all who celebrate it!
How did you spend your Mother's Day weekend?
happy to see the enjoyments you had in the mother's day!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a awesome Mother's Day. I remember when I was kid, we always put on shows for our parents and maybe it's just my school, but we don't have that. My oldest had a play last year, but that was his first one (3rd grade) and this year in 4th there is nothing. It's sad.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had an awesome Mother's Day weekend :)
ReplyDeleteglad to hear you had a lovely weekend, sister
ReplyDeleteGlad your weekend was grand. sounds like you shopped til you dropped
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great weekend. I don't know why, but I cry at concerts. It's so odd the way emotions work. I think about the same things you described. Then tears just start welling up in my eyes.
ReplyDeleteIt does sound like a great weekend. And I love those kid concerts at the schools! :)
ReplyDeleteI think you saw the post on IG with my SIX grandkids. Two years ago I had 3 and now I have 6. Mazing! But I "over-did" and mean chemo symptoms came back and smacked me down. Chemo is so strange ---- it is physically compelling but emotionally too. It is not for the mentally distressed, let me tell ya because you feel odd yet you can't put your finger on it and it make you go slightly into depression. Very odd. Sleep is awesome and then normalcy emerges again, thank GOODNESS! Glad you had a wonderful Mother's weekend and day! Your kids had better treat you RIGHT, for all you do for them . {smak, smak} lol
ReplyDeleteAwww...so glad you had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend!! How cute with the choir...I love watching kids sing (or try to hehe). They put so much hard work into it! I bet your yard looks beautiful with all the flowers you bought!! We spent our weekend with family, enjoyed the trails/parks, riding bikes and working in the yard. It was pretty blissful!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated Mother's Day! It really sounds like a wonderful weekend :) Mother's Day was rather quiet but my hubby made breakfast and yesterday we celebrated Lil Pumpkin's actual birthday. Can't believe my baby is 5 already!!
ReplyDeleteAi @ Sakura Haruka
Sounds like a wonderful weekend
ReplyDeleteHow nice that you got breakfast in bed, that was sweet that your kids thought of it. Happy Belated Mothers Day.
ReplyDeleteA perfect Mother's Day! I remember those wonderful concerts! My child was always the best even though the mom to the right and left was thinking the same thing about her child! lol I just might head to the plant section today for a bit of grumbling myself. People can be such arses!
ReplyDeleteMom's Day should be twice a year. Yes? ;)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! But I won't push my luck asking for it that much. My families heads would probably pop off if they had to thank me more than one day a year lol.
DeleteIt sounds like a great weekend! We had a nice weekend as well.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a good Mother's Day weekend!
