When we walked in, my inner nerd was screaming with excitement. The whole interior was decorated with an 80's theme!
And then my inner child was screaming even louder when I realized our table was made out of chalkboard paint! They even provided a canister of chalk!
That excitement turned into relief. The service was S-L-O-W, so we ended up coloring the heck out of our table.
Allison even found some chalk paint painted on the walls, and left her review.
The pizza was just O.K. served hot. The girls only ate 1/2 a slice each, but gobbled it up cold the next day.
Even though she isn't a Star Wars fan, we always tease her about being one. We made her pose with Darth Vader on the way out.
Overall, it was a fun experience. I wasn't thrilled with how long it took to get our food since there was only 1 server, and the pizza wasn't stellar, but I'd probably go back again some day.
What pizza parlor do you think has the best pizza?
I'm a cheap date to. I have to say that my husband has more expensive taste than I do.
ReplyDeleteI love the chalkboard tables! That's so cool!!!
Wait she asked for Little Caesars on her birthday? What... I'm on the same side as your husband. The last time they had birthday-worthy pizza was in the 90s
ReplyDeleteSounds great! She has enjoyed the day well. This can be seen from her happy face. She will be really excited to see the table marked for her. Pizza looks great!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. Funny to paint at the table while waiting for the food!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome that you can paint on the tables!! Seriously, awesome. You and I would get along great, because I am a cheap date, too!!
ReplyDeleteIf having Little Caesar's for one's birthday is wrong, then I don't wanna be right!! Happy birthday to Mariah!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a cheap date too... but I'm also quite slutty as well.... truly I am :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like the place is more fun than the food. I'm as cheap as can be, rather eat at home.
ReplyDeleteJohn's in NYC is the best pizza place I've ever been to, hands down without a doubt (even better than Italy! though I've never tried pizza in Naples, which is supposed to be the best in the world <--someday I will, I hope. :)).
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Niles, but hubby said he wanted to go there to see something... I just can't remember what it was, lol
LOL at the Darth Vader reference. She'll probably laugh when she's 90 about how you guys all teased her with the Star Wars thing (and I think that's really cool, hehe). :)
LOL I just read Dezmond's comment and choked on my beer...just kidding, it was only water so I am super cheap cuz it was out of the tap! Cheers.
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with cheap
ReplyDeletepose with Darth Vader, nice pic.
ReplyDeleteToo bad they failed on the service and food, because the concept of chalkboard tables and an 80s theme is really good.
ReplyDeleteThat looks really neat. I have to say that my favorite pizza place doesn't have the best pizza, but it's not awful. And it has a play area and it's decorated with artwork by local children. It's also reasonably priced. And all those things, at this point in my life, add up to being worth more than the better tasting pizza that is more expensive and too boring to wait for. Ha. We get better pizza if we call it in and pick it up, but if we are actually eating there, we choose a play place, since pizza tends to take a while sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI'm a cheap date too! Take me to a place like that and I'd be in heaven.
ReplyDeleteMy Daughter grew up in the 80s so I am sure she would relate to the decor. I like the chalk table.
