Did everyone have a nice Independence Day? My husband hasn't had a 3 day weekend in what seems like forever, so it was really nice having him home for the extra time. We ended up skipping all the parties this year, and opted for a low-key holiday. We spent most of the day working on projects around the house, followed by fireworks at our downtown river walk. Celebrating with 4 of my favorite people, it was a perfect evening.
Saturday was spent at our state park having a picnic followed by trail hiking. Of course, it wouldn't be a real Independence Day party without a little watermelon eating contest. I think the little one won.
All in all, a very fun and relaxing weekend!
How did you spend 4th of July?
I'm afraid I spent 4th of July working at home.... It's pretty sad, I know.
ReplyDeleteisn't our Theresa dropdead gorgeous and stunning and positively glowing with that crown, Sir Randy Mandy Blue?
DeleteAwe, sorry to hear that Blue. Did you at least catch a few fireworks?
DeleteWe kept it low key this year, too. That watermelon eating contest looks like fun. I have never done one, but now I kind of want to.
ReplyDeleteThat's fun that you did a watermelon eating contest. I'm glad you had a happy 4th!
ReplyDeleteWe can't have fireworks in the city and found out my brother's house is right on the edge of the city line...
ReplyDeleteIt's good to have family in high places ;)
DeleteYou could totally compete in Miss World pageant with that crown picture.... and I ain't even kidding, sister!
ReplyDelete*blush* I NEVER take selfies. Only when I have a funny hat on, because I love them so. I think I read somewhere that people who take them often are linked with mental disorders and narcissism. 2 things I certainly don't want to be linked with lol.
Deletewe all have mental disorders, dear, don't worry about it :))
DeleteAnd now go on and put this miss pageant photo as your profile pic :)
Just relaxing is sure the way to be and having fun to boot. Sounds like a grand time was had at your pad.
ReplyDeleteI think that you spent the holiday in a perfect way!
ReplyDeleteThat's funny that Allison won the watermelon eating contest. :)
BTW your niece looks like she could be Allison's sister.
ReplyDeleteIt's so funny, my family is all very similar looking. None of us can claim we were born into the wrong family because we all look so much alike!
DeleteLOL she won :)
ReplyDeleteKids surprise you don't they??
how you been?
She may be little, but don't let that fool you. I am positive she eats double the food us adults do on a daily basis. She has a very high metabolism... lucky girl!
DeleteHappy 4th of July! I'm quite a social animal but actually I love the quiet time spent with family the best :) So peaceful and I feel so blessed in their presence :) Most of the time holiday crowds drive me nuts haha
ReplyDeleteAi @ Sakura Haruka
Sounds like the perfect weekend
ReplyDeleteYou and your peeps are gorgeous, as are those fireworks.
ReplyDeleteI had a good one, nothing too exciting. I was too tired to continue a road trip, so I stayed in a hotel and was able to watch fireworks from there.
A very fun day, you are very pretty with the crown! Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys had a wonderful time. Gotta love the fireworks!
ReplyDeleteOh -- glad you asked {cuz really nobody else on their blog's has asked} but it was a day of sleeping, napping, crying and more sleeping. I was in bed at 8:30 and I could hear the occasional booms and sizzles and bangs but I slept through the 4th. Dang cancer!
ReplyDeleteHey cute little group of celebrators you have here!!!
{this new design is done, I'm loving this one now. You see it all has to jive {the favicon, the page tabs, the fonts all have to balanced and when I make changes it is because it isn't jiving, yet.} Thank you my friend for noticing. I feel more in control of my life now too, so that helps. lol ♥
Theresa!!! You look way too young to be the mother of a teen. Must be your healthy lifestye or something.
ReplyDeleteI think it's just lots and lots of face cream lol!
DeleteI bet not. That picture of you looks great.... but, you better keep using the face cream because those wrinkles sneak right up on you. I know..... EXPERIENCE!!
DeleteLooks like a great 4th. And I love the way the sun is coming over the crown in that picture. It gives it a glow!
ReplyDeleteSadly I did nothing for the fourth of July but it looks like you had a great one! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had fun! We had our annual bash at our house, with food and fireworks.
ReplyDeleteI just stayed at home and relaxed with my cat. It was horrible weather here so the fireworks may be this weekend instead-in which case I will be home again.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you all had a great weekend. My son had a party with some friends on Friday and on Sunday we all went out to eat for my sister's birthday. We stayed pretty close to home, but it was fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great weekend! We spent Friday at home, and swimming at a friend's. Saturday was spent at a party and Sunday we left town and headed to the beach!
ReplyDeleteWe also had a fun and relaxing weekend spending time with the family!
ReplyDeletewhat a fun day and yummy watermelon a must have for sure.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great time with family. I had my kids read about it since we are living abroad.
ReplyDeleteEveryone needs a low key holiday now and again! July 4 is actually my mom's birthday, so we had a party for her!
ReplyDeleteI love weekends like that! My family went out of town for the weekend and enjoyed some quiet time together.
