Spiders are icky, but I have this thing about not killing them since they eat the even ickier bugs. I usually come across common house spiders here and there, but this summer I found a few that I had never seen before. They fascinate and creep me out at the same time.
This crab spider was really tiny. Like the size of a pea. He must have gotten into a scuffle since 2 of his legs were missing. |
This guy was chilling between my husband's feet at the beach. Hard to see since he blends into the sand so well. |
Do you smash the spiders or let them be?
Smash them to BITS. Especially the ones that make their way into my house. But I always make sure to scream really loudly first in case someone else is in the house and can kill them for me.
ReplyDeleteI do that warrior yell when I find an earwig in my basement. Jason always looks at me like I am a crackhead for screaming as I smash them lol.
DeleteI'd never smash a spider, I have two on the ceiling of my room, Andrey and Sergey :) and they eat mosquitoes for me :)
ReplyDeleteOk, I don't smash them, but I don't go as far as naming them. You are such a weirdo Dezzy ♥
DeleteI leave them alone if they are outside. If they are inside I smash them. I just don't want webs all over my house.
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in Georgia - we had spiders as big as the palm of my hand. They were furry, and fast. They freaked me out. I had no health insurance at the time. I had no clue what kind of spider they were. They had a violin shape on their body, but seemed too big to be a Brown Recluse.
Ok, those I would have smashed with a shoe. That is, if I didn't faint upon seeing them first!
DeleteHelllllllll no! I am not a fan of spiders!! LOL
ReplyDeleteIf they are outside, left alone, inside the cats either eat them or they get smashed
ReplyDeleteI give it more thought than a bug, I try to leave them be.
ReplyDeleteIf they're in the house, they go. If they're outside, I don't mess w/them. I do take webs off of my porch though. You got some great pictures, that first one is pretty amazing for being pea sized!! Pretty nice zoom you've got on your camera!!
ReplyDeleteBecause they're so creepy, I'm impressed you got so close to take these photos. The first one looks monstrous, not pea-sized. And it's a beautiful, ugly, four-eyed thing. Great photography, Theresa.
ReplyDeleteI generally let them be after calmly informing them I will let them live as long as they stay away from my body!! Yes, I really do talk to them--if anyone actually saw me doing it they would probably have me placed in a funny farm.
ReplyDeleteUmm, no thanks. Especially not that transparent looking crab spider!
ReplyDeleteEWW I am not a fan of spiders, but if they are in my home I get rid of them. Outside I leave them alone.
ReplyDeleteI really hate spiders. If they are in the house, we kill them. If they are outside, I don't mess with them.
ReplyDeleteTotally had to scroll without looking. I HATE SPIDERS AND THIS FREAKED ME OUT. LOL
ReplyDeleteIt would depend on where they were. Inside the house, they die. Outside is fine.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I would smash that beach spider, for sure LOL My husband is actually terrified of spiders, so I let them be unless he freaks out. Then I smash them LOL
ReplyDeleteI smash them, especially white tail spiders - the only nasty one we get around here.
ReplyDeleteOMG spiders give me nightmares. I am seriously afraid of them!
ReplyDeleteYIKES... NOOOO I hate spiders, totally freaked out seeing your post... Smash them, stomp them whatever it takes.. I can't stand spiders...
ReplyDeleteI admit, I smash theme too in they are in my house. I am not a big fan at all. Those are some pretty creepy looking spiders! :)
ReplyDeleteI find them fascinating! I must admit I don't like them crawling on me, but I generally just catch them and put them outside.....unless they're in the basement, then I just leave them alone down there!
ReplyDeleteI get some pretty huge spiders in my basement. I smash them or get the bug killer out. YUCK..
ReplyDeleteSpiders don't particularly bother me. There's other insects that freak me out more than spiders. But that last one you posted would make me flip my lid!
