I used Hershey's because that was what was on sale that week, and I bought one of these foam rings at the $1 store, so this craft is relatively inexpensive, but a huge hit with teens!
This is a pretty self explanatory craft. Just hot glue your candy around the ring. I stuffed the inside of the ring with tissue paper, then topped it with some Hershey's Kisses. Wrap a ribbon around, then you are all done!
What kind of candy bars would you use on your cake?
I'll take one made out of all Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Milky Ways please. That is an awesome idea.
ReplyDeleteI knew we would be fast friends Robin, and this just proves it. Those are 2 of my favorite candy bars too :)
DeleteI do the same but with the candy bars unwrapped and the centre filled with sponge cake and cream :)
ReplyDeleteNow that sounds absolutely sinful Dezzy! I must make your version soon!
DeleteI shall try to find and put a photo of such cake at your Facebook :)
DeleteGenius! I will have to keep this in mind for my nieces and nephews! Pinning!
ReplyDeleteThe teens really do love it Karen! What kid doesn't like candy bars!? lol
DeleteWow that looks great! I'd definitely have some Flake, Kitkat, Hershey's kisses etc on it ;)
ReplyDeleteBut wait.. tell us more about Mariah's bf!!! hehehehe
Ai @ Sakura Haruka
I don't know what Flake is. I am gong to go Google that!
DeleteHer bf is a doll. I thought I would hate it when she started dating, but we adore him and his family!
Now that is one I could easily do
ReplyDeleteone word, diabeetus
ReplyDeleteNot if you share ;)
DeleteThat will be a hit with any kid
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! I'm going to try to make one for my husband to give on our upcoming anniversary.
ReplyDeleteThis is very creative! Who would have thought! I would love a Dairy Milk cake like this :)
ReplyDeleteMy mom made cakes like this when I was younger. She did a lot of her own candy and stuff too. Seemed like everyone was having some sort of a party and mom baked something. I didn't really get the baker gene, just the cooking!
ReplyDeleteSuper easy and super cute!!! I don't even know what kind of candy I would use - such a versatile idea!
ReplyDeleteThat is the best. I am going to have to do this for my son's class one day.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! So simple for me who is challenged when it comes to this sort of thing. I bought one of those rings for a different project that I never made so I am definitely going to use it for this cake. My boys like Hershey's and Kit Kats, I might throw in some Three Musketeers for Mom. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat looks tasty. A few years ago, I really did make a candy bar pie. It was made of Butterfingers, whipped cream, and cream cheese poured into a pie crust. Everyone loved it!

That sounds a lot like the butterfinger cake that I make but we use condensed milk instead of cream cheese. Now my husband requests that specific cake every year for his birthday!
DeleteWhat a cute idea, I may have to do this for my next kids party!
ReplyDeleteYep, I can see how it's a hit with the teens. :) I'd use non-fattening, no sugar, only good for you candy of course (not). :) :)
ReplyDeleteI'd probably make one with Reese's everything. I love peanut butter cups. Now they have candy bars.
ReplyDeleteThis is my new favourite chocolate / candy item. Will have to make this soon :) Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteI might make one of these for Elliott for Halloween, since we aren't doing trick or treating this year.
ReplyDeleteI have a Daughter and 2 Granddaughters who would go nuts for this candy cake. I just wish I could eat it with them.
ReplyDeleteBest. Cake. EVER.
