You can see the snowflakes sticking to her hair. |
That enthusiasm was short lived though. The wind kicked up and big flakes started flying around, so we only made it an hour into trick or treating until we were too cold to continue and came home. I don't think many other kids made it that long either, because we only got 1 kid at our door in the last hour of passing out candy.
We made Mariah's Halloween costume this year. She wanted to go as Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
I wouldn't suggest making a long tulle skirt if you plan on doing a lot of walking. The skirt kept bunching up and was such a hassle to keep straightening all night. You can see a better photo of it in my Instagram widget.
Mariah wanted her boyfriend to go as the prince version of the Beast. I was exhausted from our trip, so just tossed some fabric together and came up with this. He was supposed to tie the frilly scarf to make it look more bunched up, but whatever ;) The yellow side things aren't crooked. It's just the way the fabric landed when taking a picture.
The snow and cold didn't make it the best Halloween, but the kids had fun regardless. Fingers crossed next year will be sunny and 75!
How was your Halloween weather this year? Did you get snow too?
The weather here was cool but not too bad. It looked like there were plenty of kids out there. The next day it rained and was so cold, so I'm glad it held out. Too bad it was nasty up north!
ReplyDeleteWe immediately started looking for houses in the south Halloween night. Dreaming of warm weather year round now!
DeleteWait, Mariah has a boyfriend? Oh the anxiety.....
ReplyDeleteLOL.
They all look awesome in their costumes.
It's not too bad ;) We like this one lol.
DeleteNo snow here, thankfully. Ask Allison to keep it all there please haha
ReplyDeleteYou guys usually get it before us, so it was a definite change this year. Today the sun is shining and it's actually warm. Wish today would have been Halloween :(
DeleteShe is already controlling the weather? You should probably call Professor X from X MEN :)
ReplyDeleteAnd Mariah and her boyfriend look adorable.
Darling, you know I have no clue who that is. Seeing how I don't pay attention to those superhero movies. But pass me the number and I'll think about calling ;)
Deleteit's Professor Xavier, played by Patrick Stewart, he protects all the mutants :) and some of them have the powers of controlling weather :)
Deletewhich is, by the way, my fave superpower - I'd control snow, sun, bring winds where there is scorching heat, bring snow at Christmas, rain during draughts :)
DeleteWe got snow, not much but we got it. I like the Beauty and the Beast outfits, love it even more that you made them.
ReplyDeleteI thought of you when it started snowing, wondering if you guys were getting it as bad as we were. MI usually gets hit a lot worse than us. Glad to hear it stayed tame for you on Halloween!
DeleteLove their outfits! And yes, the weather was downright atrocious. It snowed all day here and the wind was screaming. My kids made it 30 minutes, but I was driving them from house to house. We always walk and stay out for over an hour! Next year better be nice.
ReplyDeleteNo snow yet. Let's keep it that way.
ReplyDeleteWe had at least four Elsas show up on Halloween. We did get snow the next day but not in my part of the county...
ReplyDeleteWe were so lucky this year. A beautiful Halloween night....and then the next afternoon all hell broke loose. I awoke to a foot of snow on the deck Nov 2. I just came in from plowing our driveway. It took me over 2 hours and I am only half done. Now on to the boyfriend......you tell him you have bloggy friends.....lol. The costumes look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteAww Mariah and her bf make such a sweet couple! You did a wonderful job with their costumes! :)
ReplyDeleteAi @ Sakura Haruka
What beautiful princesses you have! I love the costumes, finding a beauty and beast costume is very hard, mostly the beast.
ReplyDeleteCarmen Perez says: The costumes look great. We never get snow, we live in Miami...LOL!
ReplyDeleteWow what fabulous outfits. I love the picture imitating the real story beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love that she got snow for her Ella costume. I have run races in tula tutus and they never turn out well at the end! Both costumes and girls are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThey look great!!! That's cool the boyfriend was willing to dress up.
ReplyDeleteI love that first picture. She looks so pretty twirling around.
It was cold and windy where we are at. No snow just yet, but I heard it snowed in parts of Nebraska.
You made that costume yourself? Wow, you're talented!
ReplyDeleteWeather was rainy on our Halloween, but stopped in the evening just in time for the kiddos. I love the Belle dress you made, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThose costumes were great and I love that she got the boyfriend in on it too.
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures! Belle was my fav, I like how you took them both. Great memories now to keep
ReplyDeleteOh no, snow on Halloween! We had a relatively mild night, but not many trick or treaters. Can't figure it out.
ReplyDeleteIt was pouring rain here. It never fails every single year my kids have been out it rains:(
ReplyDeleteI love that your daughter's price was willing to dress up with her. Love her pictures!
ReplyDeleteI seriously love all those costumes! We had several Elsas come to our door this year, and they all looked adorable. Perfect costume for the chilly weather.
ReplyDeleteWe've had snow since September but it seems like a lot of people around the country got it on Halloween.
ReplyDeleteLoved the costumes. So beautiful. Sorry that it was so cold but I bet there was still some fun to be had.
ReplyDeleteLove the costumes. We don't have snow yet (in Arkansas) but it is definitely getting colder!
ReplyDeleteAww I like that first photo - I find that lovely - I didn't even think about halloween until you mentioned it lol!
ReplyDeleteWe had perfect weather this Halloween! Cloudy and a bit cold, but not windy. We were able to take a walk around the neighborhood without freezing and just enjoy the Halloween atmosphere!
ReplyDeleteWe did Mickey's not so scary Halloween party and loved it! It was neat to see everyone all dressed in Magic Kingdom.
ReplyDeleteI really love your girls costumes. I would love love being Elsa! :)
ReplyDeleteHalloween was definitely not fun out my way. I live in a Chicago suburb, and it was awful. I mean dreadful.
ReplyDeleteWe had a very sunny and fund day this year! I suppose thats what you get in FL though :) I think its awesome your Elsa got a little snow!
ReplyDeleteCute costumes. The weather was actually pretty good here in Maryland. A little brisk but not to cold to put off trick or treating.
ReplyDeletelovely to see that..My daughter Obi really wants to be Elsa as well, but we managed to get Snow White instead :)..it matches her dark hair...
ReplyDeleteThe beauty and the beast costumed rocked. That is my all time favorite Disney movie. I still have my original VHS!
ReplyDeleteOh wow snow for Halloween - at least it was enjoyed :D fantastic costumes!
ReplyDeletewhat a great job you did on those costumes. I love making my kids halloween costumes every year. It was so cold here too. But it didn't snow.
ReplyDeleteIt just snowed here today. I wasn't really that excited. Amber N
ReplyDeleteSO many Elsas, of course the snow came :) I love the outfits your girls had.
ReplyDeleteHow lucky you were to have your first snow fall. I would love to be where the seasons change. It also looks like you had a wonderful halloween. thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteI can remember many a Halloweens when it has snowed. I don't like snow.... You can keep it all.
ReplyDeleteThe kids look absolutely wonderful in their costumes. It was chilly here as well.
ReplyDeleteWe sure got our share of crazy weather across the nation. I like to see people enjoy the situation despite the conditions. Lovely costumes too.
