Christmas 2014~ Week in Review

Did everyone have a great Christmas? I admit, I am at that phase where I am kind of bummed the holidays are over, but am washed in relief too. The month of December is so busy around here, I can hardly catch my breath, but with all the people we saw this past week, I've had my breath almost completely knocked out of me. I ended up catching a nasty bug, and it's been hell trying to recover since the 26th. I know I have some giveaways that have ended this week, and I am asking you all to bear with me for a few more days in winner selection. It's going to take a little longer than normal for me to go through and verify the entries, as it's difficult for me to stare at a computer screen for more than a few moments at a time. So, today's post is short and sweet, with a little week in review from our busiest time of the year.

Not only did Jason and I have birthdays, Allison celebrated her 11th birthday. Her sister was sooo excited, because that meant she finally hit the age where she could attend Hogwarts. Allison came home to her acceptance letter that arrived via Owl Post:

We spent Christmas Eve at my mom's with some of my favorite peeps:

Santa stopped in for a Christmas Eve visit before finishing up his toy delivery:

And Mariah was hit with a little puppy love...

What were the highlights of your holiday?

  1. I had so much fun in the blog world. Dezmond's special cake over here. The Favorite Christmas memory blog hop. Posting songs for readers to listen to.

Babysitting a Love Bird for my neighbor. Going shopping with my God-daughter three days in a row. Seeing my niece and nephew and their friends on Christmas day. Baking vegetable dishes and mac& cheese for the homeless shelter.

Decorating and crafting is always fun!

Cute photos you have - lovely family. Thanks again for hosting Dezmond!

    1. Yep, knew it was coming when I saw a few of the nieces and nephews sniffling. Should have loaded up on the hand sanitizer and now I am paying for not doing it.

  8. such lovely photos, you really have a great camera! How can you be ill after eating all the honey bear honey??? :) Are you eating it daily or does it just look pretty on your shelf? Mix a bit of the honey with grated ginger and lemon and eat that a few times a day and you will be good in no time

    1. Dezzy, I am chugging the honey like you wouldn't believe, but with my weakened immune system, it takes me twice as long to recover :(

    1. So many were sick in our area, they started limiting hospital visitations to try to curb it. I've never seen that happen here before!

  10. The kids are so cute! I think the older Allison gets the more she looks like you, which is a great thing. You're so pretty! What a fun get together.

Highlights? My younger sister's clan was sick, so Christmas with them is on New Years. My older said some mean things to me on Christmas. I was mad at the time. Now I'm over it. My kids were great though.

    1. Awe, thank you Alissa :) She really is my mini me, though sometimes I think I see a lot of Mariah in her, and Mariah looks a lot like Jason. It's weird.

Sorry to hear everyone was sick on your sister's side too. The holidays seemed brutal in terms of illness for a lot of people!

    1. I am looking forward to the New Year too Brandi. Have you had any snow up there lately? We invested a ton of money in snow tubes and snow pants, and guess what? No snow! (I bet you never thought you'd hear me complain about not having any snow, huh? lol)

  13. What a great week! My son received so many musical instruments for Christmas, and his train set. We then went out of town the day after Christmas, so we're catching up on playing this week!

  14. My Mom and I drove up to see family the week before Christmas-had a great time-I met my grand niece for the first time. Well since the 25th things went downhill FAST-my Mom got sick-I spent the 26th at the ER-yes they admitted her-Almost total dehydration--just got her out today-she is still weak but doing well--But--now I have a sore throat!! Hoping both of us will be back to ourselves by the New Year.
