Can you believe that Easter is sneaking up on us already? I was just looking at the calendar and realized it is just a little over 2 weeks away! My longtime readers know that I'm huge on hosting an Easter celebration for all of my family members and friends each year, but with only a few weeks to plan, I was getting nervous about time constraints and actually thought about cancelling the party altogether this year. Jason talked me out of it though, reminding me that there is a lot that can be done ahead of time so I don't feel rushed tossing things together last minute. The kids come for the egg hunt and visit with the Easter bunny, and getting that planned ahead of time is key.
• Plastic eggs can be filled with candy and trinkets days before the party. This is something your kids can help with too.
• Store filled eggs and enough egg collecting baskets for all guests close together so you don't have to hunt them down the day of the party.
• If you have a special bunny suit, have it cleaned days before the party and store close to the eggs/baskets for easy access.
• The day before the party, rope off sections of the yard for each egg hunting age group.
• I let the older kids hide the eggs. Most don't participate in the hunt, but they have a lot of fun hiding the eggs for the little ones to find.
We always serve dinner to our guests, and I have found you don't need to go over the top to keep everyone happy. Keeping things simple really is key here. Desserts can be made a day or two in advance, and sticking with selections like marshmallows on a paper straw, crispy cereal treats cut out with bunny shaped cookie cutters, and pudding cups are real time savers and usually go over well with all the guests.
This year I am keeping it simple by using HoneyBaked Ham to help with our main course. A few years ago I was so pressed for time, I miscalculated how long I was supposed to bake our ham and it didn't finish in time. Thankfully, everyone was a good sport about it, but it was a little embarrassing! With HoneyBaked Ham, I don't have to worry about that happening again! I can stop in to get a delicious, fully cooked ham and/or turkey breast, then pop it in the oven to quickly reheat it right before our party.
The ham has been smoked for up to 24 hours, and comes fully glazed with their amazing brown sugar glaze, so all I have to do is pop it in the oven at 10 minutes per pound to heat. The ham comes pre-sliced, so I don't even have to worry about carving time! That means less time in the kitchen, more time enjoying my party guests!
The Turkey Breast is available in Smoked or Roasted, and is finished with a sweet, crunchy glaze. It comes out so tender, moist and delicious, we always go back for seconds!
I also appreciate that I can pick up heat and serve side dishes from HoneyBaked Ham as well! They offer popular selections like mac and cheese, scalloped potatoes, broccoli bacon bliss, and my families favorite, baked apples! However, side selections do vary based on location.
Not only is it scrumptious, with HoneyBaked Ham's premium products, they offer the perfect time saving solution for Easter dinner! Plan to make HoneyBaked Ham a part of your Easter festivities and SAVE $5!

DeleteEaster is April 5th! I always thought it was closer to the end of April, but it's sneaking up pretty quick this year. We might freeze our bunny tails off searching for eggs that early!
ah, yes, it usually falls somewhere around my birthday. We have an Orthodox one too, I wonder if they will match on the same date or not.
DeleteThe plastic eggs sure are a good way to hide candy and not worry about the weather and animals eating them.
