Can you believe that Easter is sneaking up on us already? I was just looking at the calendar and realized it is just a little over 2 weeks away! My longtime readers know that I'm huge on hosting an Easter celebration for all of my family members and friends each year, but with only a few weeks to plan, I was getting nervous about time constraints and actually thought about cancelling the party altogether this year.  Jason talked me out of it though, reminding me that there is a lot that can be done ahead of time so I don't feel rushed tossing things together last minute. The kids come for the egg hunt and visit with the Easter bunny, and getting that planned ahead of time is key.

• Plastic eggs can be filled with candy and trinkets days before the party. This is something your kids can help with too.

• Store filled eggs and enough egg collecting baskets for all guests close together so you don't have to hunt them down the day of the party.

• If you have a special bunny suit, have it cleaned days before the party and store close to the eggs/baskets for easy access.

• The day before the party, rope off sections of the yard for each egg hunting age group. 

• I let the older kids hide the eggs. Most don't participate in the hunt, but they have a lot of fun hiding the eggs for the little ones to find. 

We always serve dinner to our guests, and I have found you don't need to go over the top to keep everyone happy. Keeping things simple really is key here. Desserts can be made a day or two in advance, and sticking with selections like marshmallows on a paper straw, crispy cereal treats cut out with bunny shaped cookie cutters, and pudding cups are real time savers and usually go over well with all the guests.
