Last weekend, we loaded up the kids and headed to our favorite summertime destination- Cedar Point! Known as The Roller Coaster Capital of the World, it definitely does not lack in coasters that will get your blood pumping. Last year, I highlighted on a few of our favorite roller coasters at Cedar Point, but there was a new one my family was really looking forward to riding this year. The new Rougarou!
Cedar Point's first floorless roller coaster whips you through high-speed twists and turns at 60 mph! Allison declared it one of the best rides she had that day!
I, on the other hand, was determined to conquer my fear of Top Thrill Dragster. I've refused to ride it for the past few years, but sucked it up, strapped myself in... and had a blast on the ride!
As much as we love the coasters, Cedar Point offers so much more for those who may not be big enough, or those who might not be so adventurous. Camp Snoopy is an awesome area to take the kids to have their own little thrills.
Or hop aboard the other fantastic rides like the Ferris Wheel, Tiki Twirl, or Lake Erie Eagles!
There's quite a bit of fun to be had on the Go Karts, Mini Golf Course, and playing carnival games!
On hot days, the splash pad offers cool relief!
Swing by the petting zoo area to glimpse some cute, furry animals.
At night, be sure to stay for Luminosity! It's spectacular! It's a one hour long concert featuring today's hottest music set to an amazing light show.
I loved how they added video images to the white dress!
Check out more of Luminosity on my YouTube Channel.
If you are planning to stay overnight, I would highly recommend staying at the newly renovated Hotel Breakers. Located on Cedar Point property, the 511 room hotel is just a few steps from the amusement park.
The rooms are renovated into a fun, theme park feel, with the headboards all featuring a different roller coaster from Cedar Point.
The girls really enjoyed the view from our room! |
The rest of the hotel is decorated in old world carnival meets new age theme park. It's elegant and classy, and overall, really beautiful.
Hotel Breakers offers an indoor and outdoor pool, plus a water play area for the kids, several restaurants, including TGIFridays and Perkins, arcade, fitness center, plus access to Cedar Point's private beach on Lake Erie.
In the morning, the one and only Snoopy makes his rounds around the lobby area, greeting the breakfast crowd.
As usual, we had an amazing time again at Cedar Point, and can't wait until our next visit!
OMG baby lama, baby lama! Why didn't you steal it for me?
ReplyDeleteLove the kid's kitten T/shirt :) And look at you wandering around like three little sisters :)
I wanted to steal him for myself! I didn't even get to pet him because it was feeding time, so he wasn't interested in us mere humans :(
DeleteIt sounds like such a fun place for families. I want to try to plan a trip there next summer.
ReplyDeleteI hope you do, Robin! I think there are so many things that the boys would enjoy doing there!
DeleteThat looks like so much fun! I love the Snoopy part. I have a co-worker that LOVES Snoopy!
ReplyDeleteWe adore the whole Peanuts gang, so it's always fun going to Cedar Point where we are surrounded by all thing Peanuts!
DeleteHow awesome that you got this all for free, because you're such a fun, stellar blogger and family.
ReplyDeleteI would've been camping out at Camp Snoopy while you rode those thriller rides. Whew - too scary for me.
Those rides are too scary for me too, but I find if you squeeze your eyes really tight and tell yourself it will all be over in a minute, you can get through most. The mascara stains under your eyes from squeezing them too tight always look lovely too ;)
DeleteI have been looking forward to this post. How awesome that you got to go, and that you got to stay in the newly renovated hotel. We'll def. be staying there when we go to visit again.
ReplyDeleteSomeday, I hope to run into you there, Rosey :) I know you have family close by, so I keep thinking one of these days... lol
