I was complaining about my strawberry thieves the other day, but it's hard to stay mad when our woodland babies start making their appearance in the yard. Mama birdie decided to build her nest in the bird feeder this year. I was scared to put food in it, for fear the squirrels would hop in and hurt the babies. It's so cute watching them perk up for feeding time when mom comes home.
Recently, this little guy started making an appearance. It's a joy watching him gain confidence exploring the yard. He's been lurking around the back yard for a few days, but I recently caught him wandering around our front yard.
I'm still haven't seen the raccoons come out at dusk yet this spring, but I am anxiously awaiting to see if they have any babies bopping along behind them this year.
Do you get baby animals in your yard each spring? Do you find them adorable or a nuisance?
Oh my goodness....so cute! We have SO many bunnies in our neighbourhood. They're too cute to be mad at though...even if they nibble my plants once in a while ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure it was mama bunny who ate my strawberries last week!
DeleteWow so nice to have all these cute animals around you! Living in the city.. we hardly ever get to see wild rabbits, raccoons etc.
ReplyDeleteAi @ Sakura Haruka
I get you get a lot of birds though! Those are fun to watch, as long as they aren't pooping on your car ;)
DeleteThose baby birds manage to look horrifying and adorable at the same time ;)
ReplyDeleteDon't they?! lol
DeleteWell.....
ReplyDeleteWe have a swamp behind our house, so sadly we have more snakes, frogs and bugs than woodland creatures. Although, we have our fair share of squirrels and there is a bunny that hops through on occasion.
I can deal with most any creature, but snakes are a no go for me! I'd probably end up moving away from that swamp if I saw too many come through!
Deletethe birds are the ugliest creatures... but their house looks stunning :) And the bunny is such a cutie... do you leave him carrots? I would.... We have only snails which come out every night to eat my cat's food which he won't eat after that because they leave their slime in his plate :) And we have his petfrogs and sometimes a bat and a hedgehog. And two little black birds which live on our tree and like to stare at me through my window
ReplyDeleteDezzy doesn't like ugly baby birds? I think they are so ugly they are cute! I don't leave any food out (Jason complains it attracts trouble) but I have tossed carrots off the balcony to his mama. She never eats them though :(
DeleteI want a pet frog! Only had one come through here once. The girls were delighted to play with him for a few days before setting him free again.
I do love when the baby critters come out and about too. Well, most of them... we had a snake once I could have lived without. ;)
ReplyDeleteI don't do snakes either. Sometimes the mice I catch running through my bushes give me a fright too!
DeleteOh yes we get them. They are cute, but are pests when they get into the garden. My Dad used to HATE the rabbits. Of course I thought they were cute!
ReplyDeleteI had a mole come through my garden and tear up a few of my pepper plants over the weekend. I didn't realize what a problem they were going to be when I started growing one this year!
DeleteI never find the babies annoying. They often never stay if my dog is out.
ReplyDeleteMy dogs scare them away too :(
DeleteThe birds sure look hungry. We had a few rabbits way back when.
ReplyDeleteI feel bad for mama bird. She is constantly flying off to get them food. It sure is a lot of work for her!
DeleteIt is cute when the bird all perk up their heads when they think they are going to get to eat.
ReplyDeleteI love sitting on my deck and watching them go from complete stillness to popping up and down when mom come back to feed them. It's very entertaining to watch!
DeleteThese are adorable. Thankfully, I don't have a backyard for the raccoons to ravage. Those critters are a nuisance.
ReplyDeleteThey are destructive too. My neighbor went on vacation and a mama coon decided to move into her attic to have her babies, while they were away. They caused over $1,000 worth of damage!
DeleteAwesome photos Theresa! We have woodland babies, but never seem to have the opportunity to get that close to see them. :)
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see baby bunny, I just wish he'd let me get close enough to pet him. He is too adorable!
DeleteReally fantastic photos. Those birds are amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rhonda :) I do so love watching all the birds that visit each day!
ReplyDeleteI live in Georgia, so it's a regular Wild America in our yard every spring. We absolutely love it.
ReplyDeleteSince we moved to Florida, I've seen a lot of wildlife in the back yard. Unfortunately, most of it has been of the scaly variety. O_o
ReplyDeleteOh so cute! All we seem to get even in the city are pesky, albeit adorable but annoying raccoons around these parts. They are a huge problem lol. I'd love some cute little birds! - jeanine
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are so cute. Some rabbits frequent my yard. A pair of cardinals come to visit the feeders too. Occasionally I see lizards but never raccoons!
ReplyDeleteOh, what cute little animals. It has been a while since we have seen a baby rabbit in our yard.
ReplyDeleteoh my God...they all look cute indeed...in our front yard we have a wooden owl and some squirrels :)
ReplyDeleteGoodness these photos are outstanding and really made me smile, especially the baby birds. That is something I just do not experience living in Las Vegas.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh so adorable!!! I just love the little baby animals!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! You really got some great shots.
ReplyDeleteWow... great photos, especially of the birds with their mouths open! We have baby birds here to but they are in the bird house so we only hear them but have yet to catch a glimpse of them.
ReplyDeleteThese are some really beautiful photos. The rabbit is adorable and how did you manage to capture it so well.
ReplyDeleteVery quietly lol!
DeleteAwwww, I love these pictures. The baby birds are adorable!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful pictures. That bunny is so cute!
ReplyDeleteAwwww! We get several. A wren made a nest in hubbys tool belt. So cute.
ReplyDeleteAw you are so lucky to get to see all this in your yard. We live in a housing development, so a lot of times the animals are scared away!
ReplyDeleteThose baby birds waiting for food are too stinkin cute! And so is that bunny! I live in an apartment complex, you do not want to know the crazy things that go on back there!
ReplyDeleteTracy @ Ascending Butterfly
Oh my goodness that would be difficult because they are so cute, but I would be mad too! The bunny is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou captured some amazing pictures! It's hard to get mad at such cute faces!
ReplyDeleteThere was a baby opossum at the kids' school yesterday. It was soooo cute. I am not sure how that's possible since the adults are, well, not cute.
ReplyDeleteWe have the adults coming through every now and again too. You are right. They aren't very cute!
DeleteWhat great photos. What a cute little bunny too. We've been seeing some around our house lately.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful shots of your new friends! My kids have been dying to see baby birds, showing them your pics!
ReplyDeleteEvery spring we have baby bunnies galore and it's SO adorable! My mom seen a baby raccoon in her yard this morning!
ReplyDeleteWe live on 2 acres , rural. And when I mowed the lawn the other day I saw rabbits, snakes and bunnies. We always have tons of bunnies. We had a tree fall in a storm a few weeks ago and had to rescue some baby birds. Then the other day my husband found a birds nest under his van. Sadly, those little guys didnt make it.
ReplyDeleteOh, I would find baby bunnies adorable! Though I don't have a garden for them to get into, so that's easy for me to say!
ReplyDeleteWhen we lived in the country i used to see all kinds of wild animals in our yard. My favorite was always the foxes.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have that many animals around here like that. When we lived in North Carolina though, we had lots and lots of rabbits in our yard come spring.
ReplyDeleteAwwww, those baby birds are so cute! And I love little bunny rabbits. I keep asking the hubs to get one but he won't say yes. I wish we had animals that came into our yard like those.
ReplyDeleteThose baby birds are adorable! The only creatures we get in my yard are snakes.
ReplyDeleteOh these pictures are fantastic!! The baby birds are adorable!
