It was a gorgeous weekend here! We were able to get most of our winterizing done, and we had the whole afternoon free on Sunday. It was a perfect day to go for a walk, and since we live a stone's throw away from Notre Dame, we thought it would be fun to walk the campus. Notre Dame has one of the most beautiful campuses, so if you are ever in the area, I insist you take a tour, especially in the fall. It's breathtaking!
It happened to be one of those rare days between almost warm, but borderline cold. Not quite coat weather, but definitely sweater weather. I knew if the girls took their jackets they were going to be complaining they were hot and I certainly didn't want to carry around their jackets all day. So, we put on some long sleeved shirts and the beautiful new scarves we recently received from Scarves.com and headed out.
Mariah's all about accessorizing, and went more for a designer bedazzled scarf to punch up her wardrobe. Since it's Halloween week, the Sparkles Skull Scarf has been finding its way into her attire quite a bit lately.
Allison is all about bright color and loves her Fuchsia Berlin Houndstooth Scarf. She thought it would be fun to not only use it as a fashion accessory, but to use it for pretend play as well. Here she tossed it over the side of one of the campus buildings so she could pretend she was Rapunzel (it's supposed to be an extension of her hair). She's so silly!
I, on the other hand, am not a fan of the cold, but my Helsinki Heather Knit Scarf gets me through those chilly days with ease. It's got such beautiful coloring (pink, brown and cream) that makes me think of Neapolitan Ice Cream, which makes me think of summer, and that takes me to a happy place.
After our little walk around Notre Dame, we took the girls to a neighboring town for a little early trick-or-treating. The girls were hot from running door-to-door, but I found myself shivering a little bit since I didn't bring my jacket.
Thankfully, I did have my scarf and found it the perfect size to wrap around my back to wear like a shawl.
It definitely made the walk a lot warmer, so I was really happy I brought it along for the ride!
Scarves.com has such an amazing selection of scarves for all occasions! Not only for keeping you warm during the upcoming colder months, but they also have fashion scarves for year round wear too! Also, check out their huge selection of sunglasses, headbands and gloves. They've pretty much got you covered on all of your winter accessory weather needs!
Do you wear scarves year round or just when the cooler weather hits?
All three scarves looks good. They have nice pattern and the material looks good...
ReplyDeleteI thought Rapunzie too when I saw the kid :) And I kinda like that lacy sweater you are wearing! When is Mariah going to college?
ReplyDeleteMariah won't leave for college for a year and a half, but we are getting down to the wire on narrowing down where she wants to attend, meeting with advisers on testing prep, and preparing to take those tests this winter. We have a LOT to do to ensure she gets a spot in the college she wants, as veterinarian medicine is very competitive here.
Deletehaha she has the Rapunzel down. All three look like they do the trick to stay warm.
ReplyDeleteI love ALL of those scarves. I think they are an awesome way to accessorize :)
ReplyDeleteOh what a pretty school! I love all the scarves to. I'd probably pick the one that you have just because it's earthy enough to go with lots of things.
ReplyDeleteI love those scarves! I'm all warm and cozy just looking at them. I really need one of these for the Canadian winter.
ReplyDeleteAll of those scarves look so cozy! I think that your knit scarf is probably my favorite.
ReplyDeleteOh these are so nice. I love the variety. I wouldn't mind picking some new ones out for Fall and Winter myself!
ReplyDeleteOooh I LOVE your scarf. I actually got my first scarf last year (yes -my first ever). I had to travel to Chicago for business during December, and living in SC I have no true "winter" clothes. So - my mom bought me a beautiful infinity scarf...then I got another one from my mother-in-law. So...I'm prepared, and maybe one day I'll get to use them again. It just doesn't get cold enough here to warrant them. :( They are so pretty, though...
ReplyDeleteThose are some gorgeous scarves, I have to admit I am such a fan of them come winter - I hate putting them away when spring comes around. x
ReplyDeleteI love your choices on the different scarves. They are so stylish and look great on all of you.
