It's tradition for us to take the family to my aunt's farm each fall to pick out our pumpkins. We spend hours roaming around her fields, chasing the animals, and of course, picture taking. Her property is so big, my FitBit logged over 7,000 steps in the 2 hours we were there a few weeks back. That was A LOT of walking! This year I hardly noticed the workout because I was wearing my new Bare Traps Harly Boots that I recently purchased at Famous Footwear.
Not only are comfortable shoes a must when you are stomping through the pumpkin patch, they have to protect your feet from the rough terrain as well. You never know when you are going to stub your toe on a hidden rock or trip over old vines or sticks. Country living (or just visiting) definitely calls for a good pair of boots! The Bare Traps Harly Boot is also perfect for pumpkin patch roaming because of the dark leather of the boot. It's great at hiding dirt and stains that you pick up in the farm fields.
It doesn't hurt if they are super cute, either! I love that the Bare Traps Harly Boots are on trend and pair really well with skinny jeans. Nothing makes me happier in the fall than breaking out the skinny jeans and a chunky sweater, but you have to have a nice pair of boots to complete the look!
If you haven't yet visited the pumpkin patch this year, make sure you swing by Famous Footwear and check out the many fabulous and fashionable boots they have for fall! Famous Footwear is a great place for fall shoe inspiration. Head over to see their latest shoe and boot varieties and explore what others are wearing. That is such a lovely colour of boots! And you look especially pretty in that last photo! What is aunty doin' with all them pumpkins?
ReplyDeleteAuntie sells them, along with her squash, gourds and mums. She donates what doesn't sell to the food bank at the end of the month. Oh, and she gives away a lot to the elementary school for their fall crafting activities.
Deletesuch delight, did you fill up your pantry and freezers with them? :) If you grate them and freeze them they're ever so lovely for patties over winter and for soups too, and they keep most of their vitamins frozen.
DeleteI took a few squash, but not much else. Freezer space is limited and must be conserved for the important things. You know, like ice cream lol ;)
Deleteah, you don't have a box freezer? Just the one above the fridge? In my country almost everyone has a chest freezer which we usually fill with veggies in the autumn and meat too. It is cheaper that way than buying products over winter. And healthier too in a way. Helps you survive long without going to the shop :) Although you can keep squash and pumpkins for a very long time in your cellar too or a garage where it is cold.
DeleteWe did have one a few years back, but found it was quite expensive to keep plugged in. I think we were spending more running it than we were saving on the food we put in. We have it in storage at a relatives for when our power goes out, we can still take our food to their place to keep frozen so we don't lose it all when there's no electricity here. Sadly, that's quite often!
DeleteA good pair of boots or footwear in general can sure mean the difference between pain or not from a lot of walking.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I love them! I am a major fan of boots, so I think I need to go get myself a pair ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd I know you are also a fan of Famous Footwear Robin, so be sure to check them out next time you are in the store!
DeleteThose are so cute on you! I love them. I've been cheating and wearing shoes I shouldn't wear. There's only so many shoes with stinking arch supports I can wear. These boots are so cute!
ReplyDeleteJason needs arch supports too. He's even bought a ton of inserts for the shoes that don't have them, but I don't think they really help him that much.
DeleteI love the outfit, especially the boots. I usually wear sneakers in the fall. Catherine S
