The holiday season is starting to heat up, and if you are like me, you might be dreading the hustle and bustle that comes along with the season. The house prep, shopping, baking, hosting family dinners, and let's not forget the crowds at every store and holiday event. With that much activity, it's really important that I take some "Me Time" each day to keep my mind and body in check. Stealing a few moments each day for a healthy snack or quick workout makes me feel much happier and healthier, which carries over into being more present for my family the rest of the day. Today, I am going to share with you my top 4 essentials that I use to indulge in my "Me Time".
1- eReader. Reading allows me to escape reality and explore new worlds and ideas every day. It's the perfect tool to help zone out for a bit and relax the mind.
2- Music. Putting the tunes on always gives my mood a boost. Sometimes it motivates me to wiggle my body, which doubles as a bonus mini workout.
3- FitBit. Keeping my body healthy is a top concern of mine, so I try to squeeze in a workout most days. I'll pop on my FitBit and work up a good sweat.
4- ZonePerfect Perfectly Simple Nutrition Bar. Me time always, and I mean ALWAYS includes a snack. I try to keep snacks on hand that are simple, yet delicious, and Perfectly Simple fits that bill nicely.
What I love about ZonePerfect Perfectly Simple is that each bar is simple, delicious, and satisfying. They are loaded with lots of protein and are low in calories (under 200 calories) and are gluten free, so they are especially great for a post-workout snack food option. Individually wrapped, they are also great for snacking on-the-go. ZonePerfect is choosy about where they source their ingredients, and make the bars right here in the USA. Best of all, the flavor combinations are outstanding!
• Almond Toffee Crunch
• Bing Cherry & Almond
• Oatmeal Chocolate Chunk
• Roasted Cashew & Dark Chocolate
Look at those nuts and all that chocolate! The bars have a chewy consistency, which really makes "me time" feel indulgent! Want to add ZonePerfect Perfectly Simple to your "me time" routine? Grab a coupon for $1 off Perfectly Simple and enjoy the simple, deliciousness of a fabulous snack!

What are some simple ways you find "me time" in each day?
My me time is at the gym. I get out some aggression and burn calories - win/win!
ReplyDeletethose look nom nom especially the cherry one! I eat granola bars whenever I travel... that is the only thing I eat during trips.... like six or seven of them :)
ReplyDeleteI eat a lot of granola bars when we are in the car for long periods of time. It's really a great snack to take with you on the go!
DeleteMusic is definitely a must for my me time! I like to pump the classic 80s music.
ReplyDeleteYes! 80's music is the best!
DeleteThose look so delicious. I'm definitely making these a part of my me time from now on.
ReplyDeleteThose bars look like a perfect way to have "me time". I think I would try the Roasted Cashew & Dark Chocolate first! My Me time is usually getting up early and reading the news online before the kids get up.
ReplyDeleteI love your four picks! A nice snack is definitely an essential for "me time." I do like to sit back and enjoy a good book as well.
ReplyDeleteTunes and books sure work for me. Throw in a movie or two and I'm good at my zoo
ReplyDeleteI like tunes and snacks to. Always a must for a good day!
ReplyDeletebooks and music are perfect companion..and the snacks are important as well, especially the healthy one..
ReplyDeleteMy me time is in the shower. I love to just let the water fall over me.
ReplyDeleteI do love a hot shower too! Hubby gets mad because I tend to hog all the hot water. Ooops!
DeleteI try and take some time to myself after the kids go to bed. A Bubble bath is one of my favorite ways to destress!
ReplyDeleteI love my FitBit. It helps me keep track of my progress. I always take an hour in the evening for myself. I love to soak in a hot bath with a good book.
ReplyDeleteI need to get a Fitbit to help me track my fitness. I have been trying to eat healthier and take more time for myself.
ReplyDeleteMusic is the best! I can even dance on the ride em mower....at least that's what I call it. I am sure the passerbys would have other thoughts on that. Those granola bars look pretty good!
ReplyDeleteKaren, I am sure the neighbors love to see you shake it on the mower! You might be a YouTube star and not even know it ;)
DeleteI have been a fan of Zone Perfect bars for quite some time and have never tried a flavor I did not like. My favorite kind of me time definitely involves some loud music and a hard workout.
ReplyDeleteI try to get my me time in the morning while the kids are getting ready for school (they are old enough to get ready without help - it's just getting them up that's hard). I usually get in 30-60 minutes of Zumba (I vary the routine each day) - and then indulge in some silly Hay Day or scroll through Facebook while I drink my morning coffee. At the end of the day I like to grab my kindle and read for 20-30 minutes if I still have time and am not too tired - helps me wind down. I'll have to try those snack bars - I usually have a protein bar after my morning workout, but I need some variety, and those look awesome!
ReplyDeleteOur Zumba is getting cancelled and is changing to Hip Hop Fitness this winter, which I like also. However, I do love adding in a little Salsa or Cha Cha into my workouts, so I'll have to find some good YouTube videos on Zumba!
DeleteThis sounds and looks good. I'm ALWAYS looking at food labels. Simple is truly high in protein and low in cals. I must check it out. Thank you, Theresa.
ReplyDeleteI take the time to read a little everyday. It is the perfect way to get some me time!
ReplyDeleteCherries and almonds? Oh yes, that does sound delicious to me. I like a healthy snack on the go too sometimes.
ReplyDeleteYum, that does look good! I have a collection of snacks in my car for the days I'm on the go (isn't that all of them???). None of them look as good as this!
ReplyDeleteA good book is always a good go to for me time. Perfectly Simple Nutrition Bar sounds super yummy especially the Roasted Cashew and Dark Chocolate.
ReplyDeleteMe time? What in the world is that? lol. I love to hunker down in the bed and read a good book.
ReplyDeleteMusic always makes me feel better, too. When I am down or just need an energy boost, I like to crank it up and feel better.
ReplyDeleteMy me time includes reading on my tablet too! I like the cherry and almond combo!
ReplyDeleteI definitely love when I get a workout in! Nothing like taking the stress of the day away with some kickboxing
ReplyDeleteOh they all look super yummy! I want to try the Roasted Cashew & Dark Chocolate
ReplyDeleteLove this, I do this by working out. I'll have to try these snacks.
ReplyDeleteThose are some great "MeTime" ideas. I'll admit I have put "Me" way down my list of priorities. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSadly lately the only 'me time' I can get is a shower or bathroom visit! LOL
