We are officially in party season. Dads, grads, weddings, and good old fashioned family reunions are about to hit full force. If you are hosting any celebrations this summer, you probably know that the key to any successful get together is delicious food that is easy to serve. Some of my favorite party foods are simple finger foods that can be tossed together quickly. While Mariah won't be graduating until next summer, I am already making lists to help ease the burden of party prep later on. It's never too early to start making a game plan! One item that I know we'll be serving is crostini. I love this appetizer because it's simple enough for spaghetti dinner night, but classy enough for a graduation or wedding as well. I've tried a lot of recipes before, but my all-time favorite crostini recipe is this Tomato Cheese Crostini from Golden Blossom Honey.
The bold feta flavor mixed with the sweet honey and tomato dressing is truly a mouthwatering combination. You might want to keep a few extra loaves of French baguette on hand because these will go quick!
Ingredients
1 French baguette cut into 1/2 inch thick slices2 tablespoons olive oil
1 (7 ounce package) feta cheese
3 large tomatoes, chopped
1 teaspoon garlic, finely chopped
2 tablespoons GOLDEN BLOSSOM HONEY
1 1/2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
salt and pepper to taste

Thankfully no hosting for me, that is faaar too much work lol
ReplyDeleteAnd less cleanup too ;)
DeleteWe might have a housewarming party
ReplyDeleteDid you buy the house, then? Congrats!
Deleteprobably wouldn't like honey on my cheese or tomatoes :) but I'd eat the last two and then lick the honey as a desert :)
ReplyDeleteI think you would like it with this recipe Dezzy. The sweetness tones down the boldness of the feta. Allison calls feta "butt cheese" cause she thinks it tastes like crap lol, but even she ate these appetizers.
DeleteYEAH for the honey! I didn't think of this being an ingredient, but I can see it matched up against the tang of fresh fruit. I'd try it!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so good! I've done this type of crostini before, but I've never added honey before. Thanks for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds so yummy! I love the addition of the honey to offset the tang of the tomato.
ReplyDeleteThese do look yummy! I'm hosting the May birthday parties at my house: Isaak, my nephews Evan and Edison.

ReplyDeleteI love how you are constantly showing us how to use honey in new ways! I love the crostini for a little party app for sure!
ReplyDeleteI never through to use honey in a bruchetta. It makes so much sense especially when the tomatoes or balsamic are a bit too tangy
ReplyDeleteThis looks so delicious and easy to make. I will have to give this recipe a try tonight.
ReplyDeleteThey definitely look up for the task! I don't have a problem with honey with this one, I believe the other ingredients will complement it nicely.
