Are you ready for some football? We sure are! We live really close to a major college, so it isn't a weekend around here unless we are either tailgating on campus or hosting a game day gathering with family and friends. No matter if we are out and about or at home, one thing that is always consistent with game day is making sure we have good eats stocked up on because football and food just go hand in hand. I don't like to spend a lot of time in the kitchen preparing big dishes for the game because I think game day food should be quick and easy. That's why I love HORMEL GATHERINGS® Party Trays.
HORMEL GATHERINGS® Party Trays offer a variety of pre-cut meats and cheeses that help take the stress out of party prep so I can spend more time focused on entertaining my guests and less time in the kitchen. One of my favorite things about the trays is that I can take them with me on the go for our tailgating adventures. The snap lid makes for easy opening and closing of the tray so it is super portable. There are even little spacers in the bottom of the tray to keep the meats and cheeses separated so I can sort the food ahead of time and know it will be ready for serving as soon as we arrive on campus.
If I am hosting a game day party at home, we do like to provide our guests with an assortment of finger foods for snacking. HORMEL GATHERINGS® Party Trays in either the Hard Salami & Pepperoni or the Honey Ham & Turkey for the star of the party table, plus cheese puffs, candies, and bottled waters. Then I'll add in some inexpensive football decorations and party favors to round out the spread.
Grab some printable game day water bottle labels HERE and HERE.
Even if you aren't into football like we are, HORMEL GATHERINGS® Party Trays are excellent for other family get-togethers, picnics, dinner parties, holiday parties, and everything else in between. You can find HORMEL GATHERINGS® Party Trays at Walmart and most major food retailers nationwide.

That's one of my wife's favorite snack ideas
ReplyDeleteThat's cause Daisy is one smart lady :)
DeleteI had a snack tray out at Thanksgiving. I'll probably have another one out for Christmas. I love cheese and crackers as a snack so I figure everyone else does too.
ReplyDeleteYou can never go wrong with a cheese and cracker tray. It is a universally loved snack idea.
DeleteI would serve these at our family game nights.
ReplyDeletesounds nom and practical for all ya lazybums :) Why is American cheese always so yellow? I always wondered about that! Did you try any of the vegetarian cheese since you went vegetarian? They're usually nasty, but some of the smoked ones are good for pizza and such things. I sometimes buy soy salami at my fave healthy food store, but our selection comes down to just one :) I still have supplies of bean, pumpkin seed, sunflower seed and mushroom pates that I sometimes manage to dig out from our store :)
ReplyDeleteWe do love our convenience foods ;) It looks orange to me? I haven't had the courage to swap out for veggie cheese yet. It looks so dry and unappealing. There is a pizza place on the college campus that we go to every now and again where you pick your own toppings for your personal pizza and they do offer vegan cheese. I told Jason next time we stop in, I am going to get it on mine to see if I like it or not. My tummy doesn't handle soy very well, so I don't mess with it often. I would love a good mushroom pate though. I do lurv the shrooms!
Deletedahlink, you can make your own shroom pate ala Dezz :) Just fry your fave shrooms with some onions and celery leaves, season it with Vegeta :) mash them in your blender when they cool off and add a spoon of mayo! And I make sunflower pate by grinding sunflower seeds (you can roast them a bit if you want before) and mixing them with some coconut oil. You can also make patties and stuffing with ground sunflower seeds.
DeleteI do like to make my own pates. However, I've had to start using avocado oil because Jason complains about not liking coconut oil. I can only use it when I am making something that only I will eat. For the rest of the family, I have to use olive or avocado which suck because coconut is so much better for my gut health.
DeleteI've heard from many people that they don't like coconut oil, I don't really get it because my coconut oil has no taste whatsofreakinevah, it is just like regular oil, but I'm not using the cosmetic one for cooking :) the one that smells like coconuts. But then again I've heard about people who can detect different types of Vegeta in their soups and don't like it when their wives buy some other label LOL To me, they're all the same.
DeleteSure does the trick when one has gatherings indeed. Much easier than all the cooking.
