ReplyDeleteYou are such a Santa :) Some of our shops have put out the festive decorations as well, which is extremely weird borderline lunatic here. I'm all ready with the decorations, I will go brown again, but I bought a bigger rectangular plate for my brown Christmas balls at the coffee table :) I might buy a few sparkly reindeer if I find them cheap.
ReplyDeleteI saw some houses already lit up and thought it was madness. We wait until after Thanksgiving to put ours up. You know I do love your brown holiday decor. My mom usually does brown too, but she just gave her tree and decorations to a single mom at her work who would have went without this year. She just bought a small tabletop tree to replace her big one, then just multicolored bulbs on it to keep it simple this year. One of our craft stores has beautiful silver sparkly reindeer and gorgeous cream, pink and white decor that I love, but it's super expensive. I'll be hitting them up the day after Christmas in hopes they still have some stuff 1/2 priced and will use it next year.
Deleteoh, how lovely of your mom to do that! In a true spirit of Christmas!
DeleteHope you have a good hunt at the post Christmas sales!

DeleteI have a few favorite holiday cookies, but they are all my great-grandmother's recipes. She was from Sweden. She had peppparkakor cookies (which are similar to ginger snaps, but better - they have a little spicy kick to them). She also made the best thumbprint jelly cookies (which my mom used to make a lot, but she LOST the recipe!!!) :( Makes me so sad! I've had other jelly cookies, but none as good.
ReplyDeleteI can't say I've ever had a peppparkakor cookie before, but I do love gingersnaps. I just hate making them because they are so messy lol. I would be crushed if I lost a favorite cookie recipe. Or any favorite recipe for that matter. I have lost a few, but thankfully I had them documented here so I was able to pull it back up and print it off. Whew!
