I make no secret about the fact that I love my sweets. I mean, I LOVE them. You'll hardly ever see me turn down dessert, and my recipe index has 4 times the amount of sweet treats stuffed in it compared to other types of recipes I've collected over the years. However, since the beginning of the year, I've made a conscious effort to cut down on my sweets consumption because I have about 10 pounds I want to shed before the end of this year. I've cut way back on the carbs, switched to vegan cheeses to further reduce my dairy consumption, and am trying to eliminate refined sugar from my diet. That last one has been quite the challenge for me though, because like I said, I love my sweets.
I was recently introduced to a new to me line of baking products from Bernard Food Industries called Sans Sucre. First of all, since I'm about to hit up Paris later this month, I was already digging the French name of this line of baking mixes. For those of you who don't know the translation, Sans Sucre means "without sugar" in French.
Sans Sucre offers a decadent line of dessert mixes that will satisfy your sweet tooth without the guilt, since they do not contain sugar. Instead of refined sugar, the mixes are sweetened with Stevia, which I'm a huge fan of.
There are many dessert options in the Sans Sucre lineup, including brownie, fudge, coffee cake, mousses and pie filling, and blondies. In addition to not including sugar in their mixes, there are also sugar free and gluten free mixes in the collection. The Sans Sucre gluten free and sugar free baking mixes are the first mixes to meet both crucial dietary needs while the entire line of product are beneficial for those looking to monitor their cholesterol and fat intake.
Because I have several family members with gluten or sugar intolerance, I am so happy I have learned about Sans Sucre because now I won't have to stress when I have to serve a dessert for a crowd. This weekend we made a few of the desserts as kind of a test run before taking them to our family 4th of July BBQ. First, we made the chocolate fudge brownie mix.
The brownies baked up light and fluffy, with a cake-like consistency. Chewy and delicious, the whole pan was gone in no time. That's how much my family loved them. I didn't advertise they were sugar free, and not a peep of complaint was said by anyone. The mixes are easy to customize to your own tastes too. You could easily mix in sugar free chocolate chips or nuts for more texture or even spread some sugar free frosting over the top. Yum!
I did play around with the Cheesecake Mousse a little and added in some cacao nibs for a little added crunch.
The mousses would make for awesome no-bake pie filling, but I used mine as a dip for my fruits. You could also leave it as is and eat it plain with a spoon and still be extremely satisfied. There are many different flavors to choose from too, ranging from vanilla to chocolate to lemon, and even mocha cappuccino! You could eat a new one every day of the week and feel like you were having a whole new dessert every day.
Sans Sucre baking mixes are a perfect solution for those needing to give up gluten but don't want to sacrifice giving up their love of delicious desserts. I am keeping a stash on hand from now on not only for myself, but to be sure I have all of my bases covered when I need desserts for those who have certain dietary restrictions.
You can find out more about the full Sans Sucre product list on their website. You can purchase Sans Sucre from www.edietshop.com as well as on Amazon.
Brownies, mousse, fudge, coffee cake or blondies- which of the Sans Sucre dessert mixes would you like to try first?
I bet this was one of your all time fave post orders :) They all look so nom, especially da blondies! So proud of you for going off the deadly sugar! Sugar is death! And you did such lovely photos, Sans Sucre should be tres proud with you!
ReplyDeleteI admit, I haven't scrapped it fully, but our consumption of it has gone waaaaay down. I haven't made the blondies yet, but was going to do those for the party we will be attending on the 4th. I can't wait to give them a go!
DeleteYou can do the blondies like I told you at Facebook :) Bake them, trim the crust, mix the trims with 2-3 mashed bananas, spread half of it over the sponge, put some banana slices over it, spread the rest, put the other sponge on top (or not if there is just one) and then pour white chocolate over it and decorate with rich puffs of whipped cream :)
DeleteSure a win indeed that it can eliminate both of those. Then you can get your sweet tooth on and no one has any gluten issues.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great product for those with gluten issues. Now they can have their cake and eat it to, so to speak.
DeleteThese look so incredibly gourmet! And I love that they are gluten free as well- thank you so much for putting this brand on my radar!

I'm saving the mocha cappuccino mousse mix for when the girls aren't home. They are coffee freaks and will eat it all before I can get some lol
