I don't know about you, but 2018 has been a great year for me. When Thanksgiving rolls around in a few weeks, I will have many blessings to reflect upon and be truly thankful for. When we sit down to dinner, this year our table will be set with messages of gratitude and blessings. This new collection from Precious Moments, the Bountiful Blessings collection of serving ware, will inspire your guests with messages of blessings and gratitude with their beautifully sculpted onto each piece.
These pieces are sure to become a treasured part of your holiday tradition for years to come. Made from durable glazed ceramic, they are just as sturdy as they are elegant. I just added the Bountiful Blessings Gravy Boat with Saucer and Pie Plate to my holiday serving ware collection.
The gravy boat measures approximately 7.5 inches wide and holds about 12 ounces of liquid. The word GRATEFUL is sculpted onto the side, so every pour will encourage a moment of thankful reflection.
I recently cracked my pie plate in two, so I was more than happy to add the Bountiful Blessings Pie Plate to my collection.
Sharing the uplifting words "thankful", "grateful", "blessed", this beautiful pie plate will add a touch of elegance to your holiday spread. It measures 9 inches wide and is 2 inches deep, so it will hold all of your standard holiday pies beautifully.
This year, in addition to the pumpkin pie we'll be having, I am also making a Chocolate Truffle Pie.
This pie is decadent, with a cookie crumb crust layered with a caramel pecan filling, then finished with a chocolatey top, it's one indulgence you'll be truly thankful for this year.
It looks posh, but it's actually quite easy to toss together. The only baking required is a few minutes for the crust and the rest is just whisking and adding layers together.
Of course, it looks gorgeous on its own, but even prettier in the Bountiful Blessings Pie Plate. With each sliced served, you'll be reminded of your blessings with the revelation of each beautiful sculpted word on the bottom of the dish.
Yield: Serves 10
Chocolate Truffle Pie
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 Package Chocolate Sandwich Cookies (oreo)
- 6 tbsp butter, melted
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 20 unwrapped square caramels (kraft)
- 1/4 cup canned evaporated milk
- 1 12 ounce package semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 chocolate bar for shaving (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the cookies in a food processor and blend until crumbly. Add in the 6 tbsp melted butter and blend once again until pieces are moistened. *Use the old sandwich bag/rolling pin method to crush the cookies if you don't have a food processor*
- Press the crust mixture into the bottom and up the sides of your 9 inch pie plate. Bake in the preheated oven for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
- Place the caramels and evaporated milk into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave, stirring every 10 seconds until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth. Stir in the pecans. Pour mixture over the cookie crust.
- Place the chocolate chips into a medium sized bowl. Bring the heavy whipping cream to a boil over medium heat. Pour over chocolate chips. Allow to sit for 1 to 2 minutes until chocolate has melted. Stir to combine, then stir in the 3 tbs melted butter. Pour over the caramel layer.
- Refrigerate 4 to 6 hours until set.
- Before serving, shave a chocolate bar over the top for little ribbon curls if desired. Pipe or spoon whipped cream around the edge of pie and serve.
