This year we decided to jump on the Friendsgiving bandwagon. My bestie and I always try to schedule at least one date night a month, but once the holiday season hits, we're pretty bad about letting 2 months slip by before seeing each other again until the holiday madness has settled down. Friendsgiving sounded like the perfect excuse to carve out some time this month and celebrate the season a little early with those that we love and are thankful for, but usually don't see on Thanksgiving. I mentioned last week how appetizers are usually the bell of the ball around here, and since I'm steering away from the standard cheese and cracker or veggie tray this year to keep things a little classy, I've been digging through Golden Blossom Honey's recipe pages to hunt down fancy, but no-fuss crowd pleasers. Rounding out my appetizer list is this Baked Brie in Sourdough Bread.
This is another simple recipe that you can spend little prep time with, but it still makes for a beautiful presentation on the holiday spread. Serve it up alongside veggies, bread cubes, or other crudités because who doesn't love dipping yummy eats into warm, melty cheese?
Ingredients
Filling: 2 tablespoons butter
1 large onion, chopped

Have you ever participated in a Friendsgiving?
Sure looks like it would be a hit, looks like a lot more work than you said too. Never even knew friendsgiving was more than a passing fad though.
ReplyDeleteIt's so easy, even my girls could do it without supervision!
DeleteWait, what? You feed your other friends with baked cheese? Guess I get the short end of the stick by living across the pond :)))
ReplyDeleteI'd take off my shoes, dive in and swim in that cheesy heaven!
I do have to say, though, in front of all of the reading public here, that dipping broccoli in it is a crime, crime I say!
I see the Boo Boo Bear is still nice and cute :)
Well, you know if you lived closer, we'd be sharing all kinds of tea and goodies and I'd have me a date to the movies. But nooooo. You've got to be allll the way over there :(
DeleteWhat! You don't like cheesy broccoli? Next to bread, it's my favorite thing to dip in cheese!
I've never have
ReplyDeleteYou should :)
DeleteThere really could not be a better appetizer than this! I love that you used the bread as a bowl. Bread bowls are always great.
ReplyDeleteI could have a whole meal that is just appetizers. This looks so good!
ReplyDeleteOne of the best appetizers I have seen! This would even be good for game days! My boys would go nuts over this!
ReplyDeleteI tried this recipe and my family loved it! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThis includes so many of my favorite things...bread, cheese, honey, and Friendsgiving! Let the holidays begin.
ReplyDeleteBrie really does bake up so nicely!! I think this is the perfect dip to add to your table for Friendsgiving and/or Thanksgiving. And by the way, happy both of those to you. :)
ReplyDeleteI've never liked Brie but your pictures are amazing.
