Can you believe it's already time to start planning out the Thanksgiving menu? I know we're still a few weeks away, but for those of us that are hosting Friendsgiving, we have even less time to get our plans finalized. Allison has a foreign exchange student from Spain that will be joining us for our Friendsgiving dinner this year, so I'll be putting out all of the traditional holiday meal staples so he can get a good feel on how we get down in the U.S. for Thanksgiving. Of course, we'll have the potatoes, stuffing, and rolls on the menu, but it wouldn't be complete without a side of baked beans on the table too. If you need a great bean recipe and you're looking to simplify your meal this year, might I suggest this Best Ever Baked Beans Recipe from Golden Blossom Honey?
Tossed together with just a few simple ingredients, this is one recipe that you don't have to spend much time on. Just mix and heat and you're all set. If you want to add a little more flavor to this dish, tuck in a few pieces of cooked bacon before heating through. My granny never made baked beans without adding in some bacon, so that's something that our family has always included in a dish like this every year. Because of that, I'll add some in when prepping for Friendsgiving & Thanksgiving this year, but this recipe is chock full of flavor even without it, so you'll be pleased with the end results any way you prepare it.
Ingredients
1 (18 ounce) jar baked beans2 teaspoons GOLDEN BLOSSOM HONEY MUSTARD

Yum, I really like beans, yours look so delicious, comforting and satisfying☺ Have a lovely weekend ☺
ReplyDeleteThanks, Natalia! Have a great weekend too :)
DeleteIs the Spaniard still just a friend?
ReplyDeleteWho knows. She's already talking about making him take her to prom this year. She can't go on her own since it's only for the upperclassmen, which she won't be until next year, and even though he's in her grade, they consider all foreign exchange students upperclassmen. They facetime every night, so she's definitely getting attached. I wish she'd back off a little because she's in for one hell of a heartbreak come June.
DeleteBut just imagine, if they marry, you could visit Spain like every year and use it to cover whole Europe as well :)
DeleteIf that were to happen, she'd keep her butt here in the US. Ain't no way I'd be separated from my grandbabies with an ocean between us. Thankfully, she never keeps the boys around that long anyway, so she'll have a new victim soon after that one is gone.
DeleteA new... victim. Ouch! Funny but ouch!
DeleteI have a great class in 3rd year that celebrates a Friendsgiving in class. When they do that, I bring things too. My Mom kicks butt with beans, so I don't bring them to family get togethers. These do look really tasty though!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool that they all do it in class and you participate too. What a fun day that must be for everyone!
DeleteWe just go to my brothers
ReplyDeleteEasy, peasy. Let someone else do all the work :)
Deletei love baked beans and they are a huge fan in our family too! we are hosting this year!
ReplyDeleteI will have to make these the next time I make hot dogs. I always love to have baked beans as a side. Yum!

DeleteSo she's going international for dating?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a winner for either seen. Friendsgiving still isn't even a thing up here, at least that I know of.
It seems to be the thing lately, these girls snapping up the foreign exchange boys as soon as school starts not realizing how sad they will be in a year when they'll have to end it.
DeleteWe've only been doing Friendsgiving for a few years, so it's still pretty new to me.
The boys are snapping up the foreign exchange girls here. I know of two for sure.
DeleteWell, with social media these days, they may be lucky to stay in touch after the kids go back home. Hope for a lasting relationship though is pretty slim.
DeleteI love baked beans, I would love to try this brand and make some delicious meals with it.
