Tis' the season for baking. Sadly, I've been battling a super nasty cold since last week and have a whopping 0 recipes baked so far. Not even for Thanksgiving where I opted to leave the oven off and just make a quick peanut butter pie. In all honesty, the thought of baking anything any time soon makes my head hurt as much as my throat does right now, so quick, easy, no-bake treats is going to be the name of the game for the time being. I was going to make Rice Krispies Treats for Allison's swim meet, but realized I had no marshmallows on hand. Thankfully, I found an awesome recipe on Golden Blossom Honey for a chocolatey version of the famous treats that requires only 4 ingredients and none of them are marshmallows. These Chocolate Honey Treats are every bit (if not more) tasty than the classic version without the sticky mess.
These Chocolate Honey Treats are perfect for those who want to gift treats this holiday season or have to bring a dessert to one of the many functions that seem to go on this time of the year, but don't have a lot of time or energy to dedicate to hours spent in the kitchen baking. It only took about 5 minutes of my time to get this recipe to come together, so I made a double batch to have extra treats to pass out at this weekend's swim meet and the dinners we have to attend. Yummy treats + minimal effort = winning! Tuck some in your cookie exchange boxes this holiday season. They will be a surefire hit with the recipients!

They look gorgeous and delish and you did wonderful photos! Hope it is not a flu! How did you get cold? Is your immune system down again? Or still? I shall do a cookie post at Facebook soon, you will lurv it, methinks.
ReplyDeleteIt's not the flu, but it is a nasty head cold. Lots of sneezing and drainage, stuffy head and sore throat. As long as I'm on biologics, my immune system will be compromised. It's the lesser of two evils, unfortunately.
DeleteI can't wait to see your cookie post. Are you baking again?
You should stop kissing Jason during winter LOL and you should start spraying everyone who enters the house with antibacterial sprays LOL Hope it passed soon, deary.
DeleteNo, I'm not baking, those won't be my cookies LOL
So yum and perfect for a tasty gift!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Natalia :)
DeleteGreat when you can whip one out fast, especially when the germs got you. Hopefully they hit the road fast and you are feeling better soon.
ReplyDelete5 minutes was all I had the energy to put into a dessert this week. Fingers crossed next week is a better one.
DeleteWhat a yummy treat! I think I might leave these out for Santa instead of making him chocolate chip cookies this year.
ReplyDeleteSanta will appreciate them, I'm sure :)
DeleteI love rice krispies treats but these are on the next level. The kids are surely going to love me when i bring these out.
ReplyDeleteThey definitely will!
DeleteI hope you feel better.. and kudos to you for not running to the bakery when you're sick and still opting for homemade treats! These do look delicious and something that I'm going to have to try.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jax. It's finally breaking up, so hopefully this week will be a better one for me.
DeleteThose sounds really good. I've made rice krispies treats but not this.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Gloria ♥
DeleteThese sound really good. I've never had a treat like this before. I'm excited to give this a try.
ReplyDeleteI love that there are so many recipes that Golden Blossom offers. These chocolate treats look absolutely scrumptious.
ReplyDeleteYum. These sounds amazing. I'll have to make some of these treats for my kids. They would love chocolate rice crispy treats.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon, Theresa! What a bummer to be under the weather right now. The chocolate rice crispy treats look delicious. I have been pulled into watching "Carlos Bake Shop" by my sister-in-law Susan. They often use rice crispy treats in certain cake sculptures. These are definitely more my speed! Take care of yourself!
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of Carlos Bake Shop, but I love baking shows. I am going to have to look that one up and have a peek!
DeleteOops! The actual show is "Cake Boss," and it's about Carlo's Bake Shop in Hoboken. It's on DFCN ~ Discovery Family Channel. Also, there are videos on YouTube.
DeleteI have heard of Cake Boss, but never saw the show. I will have to see if it is available on Netflix. I do like The Great British Baking Show and also Nailed It.
DeleteThis looks delicious this perfect homemade edible gifts. I need to try this. I like the combo of honey and chocolate.
ReplyDeleteYum that looks good!
ReplyDeleteWow, this looks so good! I love honey, but never thought about making chocolate treats with honey.
ReplyDeleteThese look great!
ReplyDeleteMy Mom and sisters always get together to decorate cookies. Last year my Aunts decided it was too much to host Thanksgiving and Christmas. One of my Uncles got Pancreatic Cancer last year. Then this year he was back in the hospital with an internal bleed. They have the biggest houses. We are doing what most families have done, for years... having less family involved in the celebrating. No greats. They are switching from one big celebration...this year was Thanksgiving, next year will be Christmas, and so on. So my Mom and sisters have less to decorate for!
BUT I do a giant plate of cookies for my work, for Travis' work, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and made some for my White Elephant at work. I got all that done, for the most part before Jury Duty.
I agree. It is too much to host that many people, especially in holidays that are so close. One big one sounds like the way to go.
DeleteYou had me at easy. I love a delicious treat like this one, especially when it comes to the holidays where it feels like I'm always baking something for someone lol
ReplyDeleteThis turned out amazing and it's so easy to make too. I would have never thought about putting chocolate and honey together.
