Happy Valentine's Day! Did you plan anything special for this day of love? Whether you celebrate it or not, I think most of us can agree that February 14 can't be passed by without sampling a little sweet treat. I thought about making something chocolatey for the family today, but changed my mind when I remembered I had raspberries in the fridge that I needed to use up. I found this Raspberry Chiffon Pie on Golden Blossom Honey this week and thought it sounded so perfect for the holiday.
The mashed raspberries give this pie such a bright, beautiful color that is so lovely for Valentine's Day. Don't like raspberries? Swap them for strawberries instead. Blueberries would work too, but you won't get the pretty pink coloring that makes the pie so adorable for a lovey dovey dessert. This is a no-bake pie that can be set in just a few hours, so if you need a last minute dessert idea, be sure to grab the recipe now!
Ingredients
Filling:
2 cups fresh raspberries or 1 (10-ounce) package frozen, if frozen thaw and drain, discard juice (strawberries can be substituted)
3/4 cup GOLDEN BLOSSOM RAW HONEY, divided
1/4 cup cold water
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
1 cup sour cream, light or regular
Garnish:
whipped cream
1/2 cup fresh raspberries

♥ How are you celebrating Valentine's Day? ♥
Wow! Thanks for this yummy recipe!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by ♥
DeleteLook at you having jolly good fun decorating that cake :) Tres gorgeous and happy Valentines! I've just bought Palmolive's raspberry foam handwash and it does not really smell like raspberries :( but I do adore their Coffee Butter Body Wash from their Gourmett collection, smells like coffee and brown sugar and cream.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers were a cover up for a screw up I did on top of the pie LOL. Tried swirling some raspberry sauce on top but it ended up being too runny. Sometimes you have to do a last minute improvise before snapping photos.
DeletePalmolive here doesn't really do fancy scents. I think we only get them in yellow and green, so probably lemon or lime. I usually only buy Bath and Body works scented hand soaps because they smell the best (even Jason doesn't mind the splurge since they are so yummy). I'll have to see if I can send you some. Don't want those bastards at the post ripping up my box again.
We don't have that label here, but I googled them and they look lovely. In our shops we have Nivea, Dove, Palmolive, Fa and some smaller labels from Europe. I've noticed that we generally don't have anything from USA beside Coca Cola and Pepsi. Not even your chocolates, it seems you don't export your goods to Europe to our shops :) Most products here are from UK, Germany, Italy, France etc. Not just cosmetics but also food and such things. Oh, we do have your Oreo as you know LOL
DeleteYou aren't missing anything on the US chocolate front. European chocolate is sooo much better than ours. When I go to Chicago, I have to go to Body Shop and grab you some banana scented lotion. I bet you'll love it, but they don't sell it locally here. If you ever want to try anything that we have here that you don't get, just lmk and I'll grab it for you!
DeleteWe have The Body Shop here, deary, but I hated everything I bought there, they're about five times more expensive than other labels as they're natural. I have their banana shower gel, smells nothing like banana, and their hand creams juicy pear (smells nothing like pear) and warm vanilla (a deeply disgusting smell, not warm at all LOL very suffocating). I did recently buy Nivea's Apricot shower gel and that one is heavenly, smells like apricot icecream!
DeleteGood thing I didn’t buy it then! I orders some bath bombs from them for Christmas and like their holiday scents. I saw in the catalogue they sent the banana shower gel and assumed it would be good. I thought of you when I saw it in there. I suppose I would have smelled it first though before buying so maybe I would have seen that it wasn’t good at point of purchase. That’s why I try to never offer scented things from online or catalogues. You just never know how they will smell until you get them in person.
DeleteWow, that looks so cute, yummy and romantic!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Natalia ♥
DeleteDelicious. Happy Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day!
DeleteYummy! I like the idea of the Oreo crust more than the Graham Cracker crust. I don't know why, but I like Graham Crackers, but not all crumbled up. My sisters think I'm nuts. This is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind them crumbled up, but I usually do prefer a chocolate crust over a graham one.
DeleteI love you lovely Valentine's cake.
ReplyDeleteI won't eat it, too cute to eat :)
Happy Valentine's Day!
Thank you, Evi! Happy Valentine's Day ♥
DeleteI know I'd love this pie! I tend to love all things with raspberries. I'll have to try and make this!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentines
ReplyDeleteSure makes it perfect for the day indeed. Admit it though, when you said most would agree you were thinking of me and knew you couldn't say all lol
ReplyDeleteOf course I thought of you, Mr. Valentine's Day Scrooge ;) But Jason is the same way too. His sweet treat I bought him for his December birthday is still sitting in the fridge. You two suck LOL
DeleteThis is beautiful! I love no bake recipes, because my oven is for storing pots and pans! Are those flowers edible?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mitch :) No, the flowers aren't edible. Just for decoration.
DeleteWow, that looks so dang good! I would love to make this!
ReplyDeleteI totally love sweets. This Raspberry Chiffon Pie looks so delicious. I need to bake it for my hubby and kids.
ReplyDeleteThis pie looks so mouth watering. I like that the ingredients are simple and the recipe is easy to follow. I am going to make this even if it is not Valentine's day anymore.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! What a pretty pie! And I have no doubt it is as delicious as it looks. I'd love to have a slice right about now.

That's so beautiful. I love raspberry's so this sounds really good.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very pretty pie! My husband loves raspberry and this would be a perfect dessert for him!
ReplyDeleteI've tried several different frozen fruits, and the only one that really tasted the same after thawing was the mangoes. Have you had good luck with frozen fruit? This pie does look beautiful!! We went on a sushi date and enjoyed a couple of hours with some adult talk. We were so out of practice that we almost didn't know what to say to each other.. lol
ReplyDeleteI actually didn't notice any change in taste after thawing the raspberries. I do find frozen blueberries or strawberries tend to lose their flavor after thawing though. I have never tried mango thawed since I tend to only use that in smoothies and prefer it frozen for a thicker consistency.
DeleteA sushi date? How lovely! I totally get what you mean about adult talk and struggling through it. Now that my girls are older, it's much easier since we don't have to squeeze in poop talk and what the latest trend is on Nick Jr LOL
Ah this looks so good and pretty thanks for recipe!

I actually like the color! It's a delicious looking cake.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is a pretty color and perfect for the holiday. I like the flowers, that's a pretty touch. I bought a heart-shaped pizza for my son and we called it a day. :)
ReplyDeletethat pie look so delicious, I am going to make it for our next potluck at work
