This month we hit the 9 year mark of when we added our boxers into our lives. I remember the entire first year that we had them I swore I was never going to raise 2 puppies at the same time again. It was ruff (rough lol). Yeah, I'm a nerd :) But here we are, all of these years later, I can't imagine not having one without the other. They are best buddies and the lights of my life. I thought it would be a nice treat to celebrate another year with my babies by making them a special batch of goodies for their 9 year birthday this year. I saw Golden Blossom Honey had a Canine Cupcakes recipe on their website and figured this would make two dogs very, very happy!
The cupcakes are a real treat for the pups, but I wanted to make them extra special so I added frosting to the top. To frost the cupcakes, simply beat together 1 cup of Greek yogurt with 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter. Or, leave them plain if you think the dogs are going to make too much of a mess with the frosting. Trust me, they won't complain either way!
Ingredients
1/2 cup GOLDEN BLOSSOM HONEY2 cups flour
1/2 cup mayonnaise
3 Tablespoons carob powder (found in health food stores)
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup warm water
1 teaspoon vanilla

Rocky gobbled his up in one go, but Adrian took her time savoring her cupcake. Leave it to the girl to know how to appreciate the good things in life ;)

ReplyDeleteHe is good at recognizing delicious cakes 🧁
Wow,they look incredibly cute! What a lovely idea, I can see they taste great, too!☺
ReplyDeleteI did not even know dogs eat carob, vanilla and honey :) My cats never eat anything sweet, they only eat things that smell nasty like meat, they won't even eat their granulated food if it isn't stinky enough.
ReplyDelete2 together is a "grand" time the first year, but then they have a buddy for life. Enjoying such a snack is the way too, ones here would probably gobble it too though.
ReplyDeleteI have never had any pets unless you count fish.
ReplyDeleteThat's so fun. If I had doggies I'd make them treats too.
ReplyDeleteI just have Sunny. He's a year and a half I think. I guess pet stores aren't the best place to get lizards, so I don't know how long he'll live. They can live to age 20.
those cupcakes look sooo cute, Theresa. For sure your canine friends will love them!
ReplyDeleteHow cute! What a good idea. I think my dog would love them.
