I've never been much of a hot coffee drinker since I'm more of a hot tea kind of girl. But, I do get a craving for Starbucks frappuccinos from time to time. If you haven't had their new pistachio coffee/frappe, go get yourself one now because they are super delish. I'll wait. I usually only make a coffee run when they are 2 for 1, or if I have a coffee date with my girls since I'm cheap like that. But we're having spring-like weather here this month, and with the warmer temps, I've been really tempted to pay full price and grab myself a large frappucicino. Then I remembered that I've been saving this Frozen Cafe Au Lait recipe from Golden Blossom Honey to try this summer and thought what the hell. There's no time like the present to give it a whirl.
Coffee fans are going to delight in this creamy, frozen concoction, and if you're not a coffee fan, I'd suggest giving it a try anyway. It might surprise you. I love me some tiramisu and thought this frozen cafe au lait tasted just like I would imagine tiramisu to taste if it came in ice cream form (and it very well may, but I'm sure it will cost a pretty penny for a pint). This recipe only has a few simple ingredients, so it's a great alternative to overpriced coffeehouse treats. And, if you dump it into the blender with a little ice and a splash of milk, you could easily convert it to a frappuccino that would rival Starbucks any day.
1 tablespoon espresso powder or instant coffee powder
1 tablespoon coffee liqueur
2 tablespoons GOLDEN BLOSSOM RAW HONEY
1 pint vanilla ice cream softened
Topping:
1/2 cup chilled heavy whipping cream
2 tablespoons GOLDEN BLOSSOM RAW HONEY
espresso powder for garnish, if desired
Ingredients
2/3 cup chilled heavy whipping cream1 tablespoon espresso powder or instant coffee powder
1 tablespoon coffee liqueur
2 tablespoons GOLDEN BLOSSOM RAW HONEY
1 pint vanilla ice cream softened

How do you take your coffee?
Me encanta esta versión de café au lait helada que has preparado y me ha encantado descubrir tu blog. ¡Ya te sigo!
ReplyDelete¡Besos mil!
PD si te apetece te espero en mi blog de repostería
Looks so sinful, you probably have to say fifty Hail Marys after it to repent. If I knew you love tiramisu I would've sent you tiramisu wafers instead of the Schwartzwalld ones :) I take my coffee only in candies :) and in shower gels. I do have that recipe of mine for Cappucciner Torte.
ReplyDeleteI used to hate tiramisu, but it's grown on me these past few years. My best friend has an amazing recipe that's so sinful. The last time she made it, my other best friend, Jenn, and I ate the whole damn thing in one sitting. I can't be trusted with a full recipe of anything tiramisu sitting in front of me these days LOL
DeleteI have never had a Frappuccino, not that I think I wouldn’t like it, but because I refuse to consume all my calories for one day in a beverage. Lol! I like cafe au lait or a latte but haven’t had one of those since the pandemic.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the astronomical calorie content in them. I certainly have to watch my sugar and calorie content the rest of the week after I've had one (which is only a few times a year for a treat).
DeleteThis sounds so yum!! Since I don't do too well with dairy, I usually get a plain iced coffee with almond milk from Starbucks..but once in a while (when I know I'll be home for the next 24 hours), I'll indulge in a java chip mocha frappuccino. So yum!!!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter loves the java chip. I'm more of a vanilla kind of girl, so I go for salted caramel frappe or the vanilla bean. But now that pistachio is on the menu, it will probably be my new go-to when I want to treat myself.
DeleteIt looks and sounds delicious. So does the pistachio frappe from Starbucks. I'm not really a Starbucks fan, but for that one...I'd go. I love pistachio.
ReplyDeleteMost of my family prefers Dunkin, but I just can't with them. The sugar never dissolves in their drinks and to me they are just too strong. Same with Bigby, but I do love Bigby's strawberry freeze!
DeleteWoow looks great! Honey and coffee combination must be amazing. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!

DeleteSure sounds like a winner for coffee fans and people who likes surprises. We don't when it comes to food. As surprise means "Look! Butt to seat." lol
ReplyDeleteBeing cheap works from time to time too.
Yeah, I don't think you'd do well with this one LOL
