We're about 3 weeks out from Easter and that means it's time to start thinking about what's going to be on the menu. Of course we'll have the traditional dinner fixing along with several desserts and a veggie tray, but I want to do something a little different than serve the same old boring ranch dressing or dill dip along with said veggies this year. My bestie recently reminded me of a chili dip I had posted here a few years back, but that's not something best served at Easter dinner. So, I scoured Golden Blossom Honey's recipe section this week and found a Cashew Butter Cream Cheese Dip recipe that I though might work.
Normally I would not pair cream cheese with vegetables, but something about this recipe said that I needed to try it before brushing it off. Worst case scenario it would be perfect to serve with cookies, pretzels and graham crackers for dessert. Once I had this dip mixed together, I personally loved it, but I wasn't sure how the rest of the family was going to react. So, I popped it in the fridge and sat back and waited. It wasn't long before I watched them test the waters, then repeatedly head back to the fridge for more until it was all gone. Not even a day later. If you can't take my word for this dip paired with veggies, I ask that you just try it. And if it just doesn't work for you, which I bet it will, but just in case, you can always use it as a dessert dip so no loss there!

1 (8 ounce) package whipped cream cheese spread
1/2 cup smooth style cashew nut butter (found in the natural food section of market)

What's your favorite kind of vegetable dip?
I would not think that sounds good with veggies, but I believe you! I like lemon hummus best as a veggie dip.
ReplyDeleteYes to hummus! Lemon, garlic, pepper... I love hummus!
DeleteOy, that carrot on the left bottom of the first photo looks like a finger!
ReplyDeleteThe dish is defo not for me, but I do love the setting!
I mixed some mayo with scallions to dip my vegetarian hot dogs in yesterday.
I can't do veggie hot dogs. Never was a hot dog fan anyway, but that just sounds ick. But mayo with scallions? Yes, please!
DeleteLooks good
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI don't have a favorite because I really like my veggies plain. But, if I had to choose, I guess a lemony hummus.
ReplyDeleteI usually have to have a dip. It's very rare that I'll munch on raw veggies just by themselves.
DeleteIf it involves veggies, I'm all in for trying it. I don't really have a favorite dip. I have one I don't like though... ranch, anything with ranch is a no for me.
ReplyDeleteReally? I love me some ranch. Mariah's boyfriend is obsessed with is too, so we always have to have ranch dressing in the house.
DeleteI havent tried this recipe before and it is very new for me. Looks healthy.
ReplyDeleteI hope you do sometime!
DeleteParece muy rico gracias por la receta. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOh that sounds good. I think I would like this.
ReplyDeleteIt was so good!
DeleteI like all the different hummus'. This looks good though!
ReplyDeleteHummus seems to be the popular choice today! LOL
DeleteHe conocido tu blog a través de esta receta, voy a probarla en casa nos encantan los dips y los preparo de muchas maneras, pero nunca con esos ingredientes, no se si encontraré esa mantequilla pero la buscaré. Un abrazo
ReplyDeleteuna foto preciosa :-)))
ReplyDeleteThank you, Miju!
DeleteThis sounds very interesting. I love to make my own cashew butter, and I have a feeling it'd be really interesting in this context. It sounds like this is just a little bit sweet. I wonder if it'd also make a good bagle spread?
ReplyDeleteIt would make for an excellent bagel spread!
DeleteCashews are always a win, not sure I'd go for the dip route though, but veggies and them work for me.
ReplyDeleteCashews are delicious! I don't know why I'm surprised that you eat them though. I guess because I just picture you eating nothing but chicken LOL
