The days are getting shorter and the weather a tad chillier, but summer is still far from being over. I'm one who definitely welcomes the autumn season with open arms, but sometimes I need to remind myself to slow down and enjoy the here and now. I saw pears advertised this week and almost bought some because pear flavored foods always signal the upcoming fall months for me, but in my attempt to slow it down a bit, I bought peaches instead. I didn't have anything in mind to use them in, but ended up putting them to good use anyway in this Frosted Honey Peach Shake recipe that I found on Golden Blossom Honey.
If you've worked hard on that summer body and don't want to lose it just yet, don't fret. This is a lighter, healthier version than a classic milkshake because it calls for the use of low-fat yogurt instead of ice cream. I actually ended up using Greek yogurt because I always have that on hand and prefer the consistency over plain yogurt. But that's just a personal preference. With the upcoming Labor Day holiday, this will be a fun drink to have on hand to delight your party guests. Even if they don't like peach, you could swap out that portion of the recipe for any other fruit and still have a yummy crowd pleasing beverage.
1 1/4 cups plain low-fat yogurt
1 pound peaches, peeled and sliced
2 Tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 cup GOLDEN BLOSSOM RAW HONEY
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1 pound peaches, peeled and sliced
2 Tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 cup GOLDEN BLOSSOM RAW HONEY
1/4 teaspoon vanilla

Are you ready to say goodbye to summer or do you hope it stays warm a little while longer?
Sure looks like a winner for the festivities indeed out on the deck...or wherever. Yeah. I'm usually ready for fall too, but Fall means we are closer to that white crap. So blah.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful picture! I’m one who always wants summer to last forever. I hate that it’s getting dark earlier and earlier.
ReplyDeleteWhaaat? There are people who no likey peach? Looks delicious. I also, like Bijoux, hate it when it gets dark earlier.
ReplyDeleteRico batido gracias por la receta. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteI like that it uses yogurt. Peaches are delicious, and I bet this shake is too!
ReplyDeleteI am so ready for Summer to go away.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so good.
Oh this recipe looks amazing darling
ReplyDeleteI'll be swapping for the soy based yogurts, but this still sounds delicious! Typically I snack on blueberries all Summer long. But this season I've been eating pounds of peaches. They've been incredibly sweet this year. This recipes falls right in line with that!
ReplyDeleteWhile Autumn remains my favorite season, I will miss the Summer. I feel like we did so much this Summer that we had zero time to actually relax and enjoy it.
Those shakes look absolutely delicious, Theresa.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm back.
