We've been gearing up for a quick holiday jaunt to Tennessee next week for a much needed break after a very busy year, and while the time off doing absolutely nothing sounds amazing, I know that when we get back it will be crunch time to wrap up anything left on the Christmas to-do list. Because as soon as we get home, it's birthday week for the 3 of us in our house followed by holiday gatherings right afterwards with extended family. So I thought I'd keep a few short and easy recipes on hand for that week to bring to gatherings, or even to keep on hand for a quick last minute gift idea for those hard to buy for relatives. I'm one who loves getting consumables as gifts, and I know there are many others within my circle who do as well. So when I found this Honey Glazed Nuts recipe on Golden Blossom Honey a few months back, I earmarked it because I knew then that I was going to want to whip up a batch or two during the holiday season.
Look no further than these Honey Glazed Nuts if you're in the market for a simple, yet impressive gift idea or party contribution. We always have a variety of raw nuts on hand because I love snacking on them throughout the year, but there is always something fun about dressing them up during the holidays. The honey and orange flavoring takes plain nuts and turns them into a gourmet treat. Package them up in a pretty container tied with a bow and you have a tasty, festive, and beautiful gift that's effortless but amazing all the same. Or, if you're short on time and still need a hostess gift or potluck contribution, this recipe has you covered! It's a great addition to the party spread and a real crowd pleaser. The recipe said to use either pecans or walnuts, but I did a mix of the two because I like a good mix of nuts for snacking and think it's nice to have a variety to choose from. If you want to get really fancy, throw in a few cashews for good measure also. Honestly, I'm pretty sure most nuts would work in this recipe (peanuts are iffy, but if you're feeling extra, give it a whirl and let us know how they turn out!) so have a little fun and do some experimenting. You may just concoct a traditional holiday treat that will please the family for years to come!
Ingredients
1 pound pecan or walnut halves
1 large orange
1/2 cup GOLDEN BLOSSOM HONEY
2 tablespoons Grand Marnier
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Are you gifting any homemade treats this year?
Those look so gorgeous and you did such an inviting setting. Will you be going to the in laws for Christmas?
ReplyDeleteWe did but we didn't stay long. Mother in law is 72 now and she's getting tired of hosting for the whole family, so she really scaled back this year.
DeleteNo, I’ll be lucky to make cookies at this rate. I’m sick again, but it’s not Covid this time. The nuts sound and look delicious.
ReplyDeleteUgh, I'm sorry to hear that! Glad it's not Covid, but not feeling your best during the holidays is such a bummer. I hope you still had a nice Christmas this year!

ReplyDeleteThat does look tasty good. I work with a teacher who makes excellent baked goodies. She makes them for her students and always comes over to my building to bring me some. They're always so scrumpdiliupmtious and she packages them with care. Consumables make great gifts!!
ReplyDeleteYou gotta love it when you have a friend who loves to share their extras! Lucky you!!
DeleteHopefully all the birthdays go swimmingly. Cashews are the ones I always have on hand. Never liked the taste of the one honey I tried years ago though. I imagine peanuts with it might taste a bit odd indeed.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who doesn't like cashews and I'm like, what!?!? That's the best nut of them all!
